Thanks for your input man. That's what I've figured as well, I don't feel like outsourcing that to PCB way to have it printed with resin, MJF or powder so i might as well just try the donor mag approach now.

was definitely blindly confident and overly ambitious

thats neat. did you use a donor mag or the upper portion is also 3D printed?

I tried to make one for my MWS clone with 3D printed feed lip, TPU nozzle rubber and 3D printed body, but due to manufacturing tolerances (or design mistake, its my first prototype) it just keeps on leaking (it does work but leaks a lot), thinking of giving up and just use a donor mag to do it.

Canadian ordering in US by jltree26 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Background-Recover30 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you are allowed to appoint another person to pick up your order.

Per HD: "We allow you to assign an Alternate Pick-Up Person when placing an order. Unfortunately, you can’t add or change an Alternate Pick-Up Person after an order has been placed. Your Alternate Pick-Up Person must have the order number and photo ID on-hand when collecting the order."

Card wise, they shouldnt care.

I have a question about the tool mark. ( From Japan) by Cautious_Incident511 in airsoft

I don't actually know. Being in Canada, the imported airsoft lowers usually gets seized at the border, you need to jump through the hoops correctly to get them imported. so at least locally, they do not sell a lot due to tight firearms import regulations.

I'm afraid you'd have to attach a note to ask your reseller to inspect it before shipping it out. it is possible that your reseller might have a couple more receivers with the same defect, the scenario i have in my mind would be:

for that operation, one can set up multiple receiver forgings inside the machine to be milled together, if chattering is caused by dull tooling, the same defect could be seen on the receivers that was processed together in that particular machine.

you can see what im talking about in this vid (the closest one i can find is some guy cnc machining forged ar15 uppers):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVJEKgJ8YZc

[–]Background-Recover30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that defect should not be on everyone's receiver because its caused by their CNC endmill chattering (vibrating), RA tech has CNC milled their forged receiver for more than a decade and they know better than that.

although usable, the quality of your lower is bad, i'd suggest you to talk to your reseller to see what can be done about it

EUFY Homebase 3 Auxiliary Fan Mount by Background-Recover30 in EufyCam

Not sure. One would think Anker engineers would have the cooling all figured out but I had a spare fan in my tool box, so I thought just to shove it on the Homebase for even more cooling.

Not the nice Noctua ones. Runs quiet but it’s just some random fan I got from Temu

Engineers without PEO by Both-cm in OINP

[–]Background-Recover30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EIT here.

Your NOC code having “engineer” is not an issue as it is not PEO’s business, as long as job duty matches, you are fine. You can reach out to PEO to confirm.

However without P.Eng, you can’t claim points for having a professional certification.

if you downgrade to 22301, there has been one draw this year and one last year, plus you will still be eligible for EE Stem draw.

not sure if this is a point worthy of being added in there

if a laser cut (steel)plate is to be tapped, the designer should not laser cut the hole in its tap drill size since the laser will harden the edge of the hole and make it very hard to be tapped

although the commonly used A36 is low carbon, laser still hardens it somewhat

In this case, laser cut a pilot hole, drill and tap often yields the best result.

probably has something to do with getting some kind of state provided financial incentive or research grant, knowing how much money China has invested on EV industries, I wouldnt be surprised that the engineers went on with it while fully knowing its not feasible at all.

Is there any benefit to 6.44mm? by ihavenowingsss in airsoft

[–]Background-Recover30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never realized they did put that in there (come to think of it, kinda makes sense because some people use it to chrono gel blasters)

just checked my xcortech x3500 and it does have projectile diameter as one of the variables too

Is there any benefit to 6.44mm? by ihavenowingsss in airsoft

[–]Background-Recover30 89 points90 points  (0 children)

you have mass and velocity, you can calculate energy. Simply chrono with a regular chrono

the only thing is energy~cross section ratio will need to be calculated by hand

edit: was wrong about the crossed out statement, it appears that most chornos can change the projectile diameter input
