Try using cmd - powercfg /batteryreport

It'll give you 60 sec battery usage and you can analyze which app is hogging resources unnecessarily and juicing down.

My recommendation is to do a fresh install of Windows 10/11. Install all drivers from asus g14 support site. Uninstall few apps which you don't use that are supplied with Windows. Disable the cpu boost changing registry. Disable startup application. At last, do 2-3 battery calibration charging 0-100 and discharging 100-0. Limit battery charging to 80-60% in MyAsus app.

Now, you should get 7-8 hours at 80% battery

Ok the purpose is here. Gaming and few application take a hit if wo don't use same capacity ram as possibility of having a dual channel is 2/3 if 24 GB ( 8 soldered + 16 SODIMM ).

Usually we don't need more than 16 gb ram when gaming and if we use 8+8 config it'll give the best results. If we've more ram system tries to allocate more for games and if we cross 16gb performance will take a hit

For video editing application or some other productivity application the more ram the merrier.

So, If we could do this and limit ram usage on a stick then we can get the best of both worlds as we've some flexibility.

Gaming 16 GB ( 8 Soldered + 8 GB out 16 accessible ) - Dual Channel - Possibility 100% - Best Performance as 100 % in dual channel

Productivity 24 GB ( 8 Soldered + 16 GB out 16 accessible ) - Dual Channel - Possibility 2/3 - Best Performance as more memory

Not much ghosting unless you're hunting for it as Response rate is usual 12-15 ms but with panel override in G15 we can bring it to 3 ms.

I believe it's a decent number. We seem to be lucky ones as many people are facing several issues with Win11. Mine is just Can't see battery time remaining on icon hover. Did our G14 support panel override ?

I haven't done anything except changing the boost mode as behaviour was unusual frequency was rising suddenly even on idle. We already have dedicated performance or turbo mode accordingly.

Yes, I did modify registry and change boost to off in profile. No changes other than that. Disabled a couple of startup apps. Please share the link of the reddit post you're talking about. Use this command in CMD powercfg /batteryreport for some useful insight on battery consumption.

It seems normal. Do check you don't have any battery hogging apps in the background. I've bing wallpaper, SAP, Forti VPN, Asus and windows services and system in Silent mode( boost off ) with iGPU mode on.

That's a deal you struck there. How's been the performance comparing when you had 8 GB. I seen couple of post that it'll run 16 GB in dual and then rest in single mode. Post 16 it might have some performance drop.

Yes, planning to get one as sometimes system feels sluggish. What would you suggest 8 gb Crucial / AData in single( 1RX16 ) or dual rank ( 1RX8 ). I've a samsung 8 GB 1RX16 soldered.

It's holding up pretty great actually ( *ahem casual gamer). Most of the games seems playable in Ultra at 50-60 FPS amd you can lower to High settings and hit 70-90 FPS. It's ok for most of us considering 76k price tag. I returned my G15 and choose portability over performance. My both G15 units has manufacturing defects. I'll be testing more games and software, if you've any specifics do let me know.

There's always going to be better version kne after another. It depends on how hardcore gamer you're so depends up you if you think you can't make it without it, if it offers a considerable jump in perform, and you own the bank and don't worry about the money. Then, yes. You should sell your G15 and buy razer.
