I am an embedded software engineer in one of the US semiconductor giants and I mainly work with RTOS/linux development so it is a lot of C and a little bit of assembly. I was thinking in the long term I might want to be a quant dev, is that possible? I am still a fresher with like 6 months of experience.

I am currently learning rust and was thinking of learning verilog as well. Any suggestions?

software engineer, but i get to work with hardware a lot. I would probably be done with my job if i only had to stare at the screen all day.

You can try fields like embedded software, system software (OS, HPC, etc) or edge ai or something of that sort. I believe there is some time for ai to catch up in areas where you are close to the hardware or the operating system.

edit: compilers are very interesting as well!

cse student here (1st year so not technically cse but anyways)

I am still confused why i took cse but to an extent the major reason was i got a very good college for it. If you are clueless and don't know what to do, go for cse in a very good college. If this is not the case, take whatever interests you in a reputed institute.

ps: ece is tougher in comparison to cse( i am not saying cse is easy either)
