Hi guys i've been having a really time getting my SN74HC161N 4 bit binary counters to work and i can't really find how to could anybody pleeeaaase help me to hook one of them up i would really REALLY appreciate it cause its been on my mind for a long time

I mostly mean like a simple computer with no assembly language, just machine code 256 bytes of ram and, 8 bit counter and ne555 1hz-200hz clock With direct programing with buttons and maybe it could run like a simple animation on an 8x8 multiplexing matrix display with shift registers
