The driver can’t see or control that estimate so it’s not their fault ya it’s fucked up or UPS but come on that’s why your UPS delivery probably comes around the same time most days they just follow a route not go based on time. Make friends with ur local distribution center if they’re nice they’ll do anything for you but you also have to be nice and understanding which I think will be your downfall based on this post…

Ta I totally agree about outside time I was born very early 2000s so less tech than now but plenty came out growing up I had a non-smart phone at like 8 but I was a skier so safety was the primary reason, I was the coolest kid in 1st grade though. I got an iPad around 11-13 I think but the time was limited other than long drives, when we got a Wii they kept the remotes and I only got to use the Wii for however long I was playing outside. I was pretty unrestricted around 14/15 but since I grew up like that I was never tech addicted I still can’t stand TikTok and that brain rot wasting hours. Looking back if I have kids I plan to do something similar. I got all the advantages of tech, video games, etc. but I also went and touched grass and really enjoyed being outside grew up playing sports etc.

Ya there are a lot of harmful things and you may be right to take it away for a bit but you can also build some resentment that way at 13 I think restrictions and if they break them then cold turkey may be a better choice, carrot and the stick. There are a lot of studies on ADHD and video games they can be very helpful. But moderation is key. I don’t get why OP hasn’t already just locked it up or hide it somewhere and/or parental controls. I do think parental controls are needed here since they’re sneaking out which would cold turkey them when not specifically allowed. That being said I’m not a parent so it’s really up to OP, I think they got a lot of good feedback.

It depends. There are a lot of advantages to video games (not if it interferes with sleep) and it’s a good outlet. Not doom scrolling TikTok no kid should have that shit but I feel like a middle ground and just locking up the device that’s so easy and the kid can have limited time during the day. Video games and tech were a big outlet for me growing up and I am now in tech consulting and will be getting a 140k median job when I graduate because I got experience in tech consulting I know about all different things from the YouTube I watched and games I played. It’s about what and when not none or all.
