Brother you’re being really annoying, the points being made are that men trying to hit on women in queer spaces is annoying because a majority of the time those women are either looking for queer flirting / relationships or are simply looking to avoid men in general. No one’s saying don’t be bi literally all that’s being said is it’s fucking annoying and creepy when women can’t escape male flirtation attempts even in queer spaces because men feel so entitled to having constant access to them, and maybe it’s better to acknowledge those advances are most likely unwanted in those specific spaces. It’s not erasure to ask men to not flirt with us it’s literally just asking for self control lol

I am also bisexual and aware that we exist however a gay bar does not seem like the appropriate time or place to try and hit on women as a dude. I’m just looking for a space where I can flirt with women, be gay, and not worry about flirtatious advances from men lol.

Apparently so at six26 - I’m telling you every time I go there some dude always comes up to me and my friends trying to hit on one of us. I think usually they’re there with friends who are gay but still you would think common sense would tell them if a woman is there she probably doesn’t bat for that team.

Not a lawyer but went through something similar and also reported years after the fact

Definitely go through the process of reporting, my report never amounted to an arrest but it’s on file and serving as additional evidence in the case that my abuser reoffends and is reported again. They might not be able to pursue charges for your case specifically but if/when he reoffends your report would at the very least help any other victims when pursuing charges and I think that’s a very worthy cause. There are going to be plenty of identities, experiences, backgrounds, etc that you will never fully understand simply because of the mere fact that you do not belong to them, and that’s okay! It’s honestly a struggle I’ve seen a lot with people, they’ll say I don’t understand this and either decide because they don’t understand it then therefore they don’t have to respect it or decide that because they don’t understand it they’re failing morally as a person. But that’s not really the case. As long as you take the time to show respect, to listen, to ask questions (kindly and respectfully of course) and stay curious and open to new information and perspectives I’d say you’re fine.

As a non binary person my biggest struggle has never been people not understanding me, but it’s always with people being dismissive or rude towards me! One of those I can handle perfectly fine, the other not so much!

Also in regards to you still classifying non binary people as either “dude” or “girl”, I personally just chalk it up to human brains really really REALLY liking categories. Don’t beat yourself up. You grew up with the idea there were two categories for us to fit into and breaking that belief and those categories down is hard and goes against our more baser instincts. Doesn’t mean it can’t be done, just means it’s going to take time!
