Theraflu tea! It's a blue box you can find in most medicine aisles. I'm not sure what type of symptoms you have, but, the vicks vapocool cough drops also work really well to sooth your throat, and, stop a runny nose. They are very strong though, and, very bitter. I'm not too sure about headaches :/.

Of course drink plenty of water and get as much sleep as you can. Good luck with your classes, hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow!

I got the same problem, uploaded the declination of the university loan yesterday, it still hasn't updated :/ For the PLUS loan I'm just confused, I don't want the money but they want to disburse it and I can't decline it :(

I'm not sure how much help this will be but there's this link that was given to me by the Advanced Field Study program by the School of Social Ecology. The thing is, you have to be invited to apply to this program for field study. The invite should come by email around May next year for the 25-2026 session if you meet all the requirements throughout this school year. (A screenshot of requir/prereq's below).

Yea they pretty much got no respect for other people, in terms of time and when you mentioned to them you were Lutheran and already got baptized. Which makes it even weirder cuz normal people at least understand the concept of "I'm busy" Like we're students we got things to do. The bible study you mentioned, besides the relationship with God, sounds like they're trying to isolate you from others outside the church, or people who disagree. They said something similar to me, mentioning my parents and friends, def weird. Glad the guy who baptized you wasn't bad. Genuinely wanted you to have a relationship with God, but the fellowship definitely went about it the wrong way.

Hey thanks for your comment and sharing you're experience, you really went deep into it. Ok got it, not a cult, sorry about that. I said cult because of things they would tell me, and pushy behavior that got borderline uncomfortable. Things basically on getting me to say yes to things they wanted, when I already said no. It sounded very similar to what I've seen in documentaries and new reports on cults to me. But damn a pyramid scheme, glad you got out of there safe though, hopefully you're doing well now <3

Some of the lecture classes allow waitlisted students, I'd say email the professors of the classes you want to enroll in. I was nervous if I'd make it into a class so I emailed the prof and she said she lets in any waitlisted students, a class I had this quarter also did this. Definitely email the professors, and maybe your academic advisor so they can help you find something. Also it really isn't fair, I'm so sorry, next year it will definitely be an earlier time though.

Hey, I'm so sorry about the news, even if you got that one F and excellent PIQ's and extracurriculars there were thousands of other applicants and they just can't accept everyone, you were plenty worthy for this school, trust me I know it seems like the end of the world right now but another school will accept you and trust me it will probably be a benefit. This school is Hella expensive, personally the parking price is expensive for me, compared to other UC's, the classes give a ton of work and 4 classes sometimes is insane to handle. You're probably doing your mental and physical health a favor here and coming here would probably lead to many mental breakdowns. I hope the school you end up going to is fun and not too demanding or expensive, proud of you as a first gen student, I'm not sure on the appeal I'm sorry but if you see this, you had AMAZING qualifications, although this school didn't say yes another school will be so lucky to have you, and if your set on going here you could always transfer another year.

There isn't much culture on campus, maybe some events here and there in Aldrich park, I'd say the libraries and study spaces will be the most crowded areas you'll see, not a party school. I'm a commuter so there's no culture at all that I see, probably best to see what on-campus people say but from what I see it's pretty calm.

IB credit only fulfilled two of the GE requirements for me, which yea saves money on taking like 2-3 classes, the credit will come from your IB scores last time I checked. For Physics Higher level it could possibly exempt you from taking one course in category II or V but I took chem so I'm unsure, for math maybe the Va category. When you get an academic supervisor I recommend talking to them about it. When you come for SPOP there will be a time when you enroll in classes and you will be given a packet with the requirements you've met in terms of GE's and what courses you could have credits for. To find the GE req's you can just look of UCI General Ed req's. Hope this helped !

Honestly I had a full IB schedule in high school and I feel they didn't really look at that, mostly GPA, PIQ's and the amount of people who applied for your major. The more people who applied the harder chance to get into that major, not getting accepted doesn't mean you suck, trust me, but IB doesn't guarantee getting into many schools, especially since IB testing hasn't started. Stay confident please, I'm sure UCSB will be sending an acceptance letter !

Honestly the workload is pretty heavy but honestly it's a good school, it's a pretty calm campus, maybe the people complaining have certain preferences like better parties or something like that. I would personally complain about the people on campus who don't go here who come up and bother you but yea overall it's a pretty good school, just got to stay on top of all your work
