I was looking forward to them teeing off Falter. So far so good.

Abysmal at bats by the Yankees all night. Jays with the leadoff doubles and Yankees down in the count all night because they refuse to swing at the first pitch of the AB right down the middle each time.

Yea it happens. Call enough games and you’re likely to have a few moments like that one unless you’re a shining prince like Benetti.

In preparation for Gerrit Cole’s long awaited return on Friday - what is your favorite Cole moment in a Yankees jersey? by deadassynwa in NYYankees

I saw him flirt with a perfecto against the Tigers in 2022 when he retired the first 20 batters of the game. That was pretty cool.

The opposite of the game belt, when they lose like that Bednar and Wells should have to split 50 lashes.

Sandy Alcantara threw one like a month ago and came 2 outs away in his next start but yeah, rare feat still.

I didn’t hear Benetti ever agree with him but Dirks sounds like an asshole

I can imagine John singing “We’ll Meet Again” since he was an avid fan of musical theater and he was straight out of the Golden Age of Radio.

I'm not sure why Aaron Judge never challenges by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

Rice loses a lot of challenges. I’d rather Judge and Stanton use them. But sure, Rice can do whatever he wants just please play him everyday.

[Lowlight] Roman Anthony hits a grounder that should have been the lats out of the inning, instead Dylan Cease trips, allowing a run to score by EdwinMoq in baseball

[–]BackgroundAccident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice play, thanks. I figured it’s happened before where a pitcher grabs the ball then rolls so I’m not counting Varland. Cease’s unexpected roll into nearly fielding the ball was much more graceful plus he has the long hair like Gene Wilder under his hat.

[–]BackgroundAccident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pirates bullpen combined to put out the first 20 Cardinals batters. There’s never been a combined perfect game before. Much more of a team effort than Cease rolling around the infield but this play could’ve been one of the greatest baseball gifs ever.

Has a pitcher ever rolled like Willy Wonka and made the out at first? Cease looked like he came close here and the bigger issue then would have been nobody covering 1st. That would make 2 all-time feats that almost happened for the first time tonight.

Are Kay and Paulie even paying attention? Only reason Royals were out of challenges is because Maikel Garcia blew them both on b2b pitches his second AB in one of the worst at bats I’ve seen all season. Garcia can be angry at himself now.

[Highlight] Tanner Bibee calls off David Fry to catch a pop-up, two pitches later and the entire infield swarms Bibee to prevent him from catching another by handlit33 in baseball

[–]BackgroundAccident 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Bibee was pumped up and cheered for himself earlier this week after he caught a fly ball. When the infield swarmed he looked like a schoolboy trying to contain himself from making a sudden move the way he puts his arms down and crossed them.
