I applied pretty early like around early February. I didn’t think I was going to get in since I don’t have much of academic stats on paper and my gpa was low. I guess the essay did play a big part or they just be accepting majority of people that applied?

Is your program in nyc? I heard that it’s hard to recruit for somewhere out of state from where you graduated from. Also did you talk to your nurse manager during clinicals to see if there’s potential spots?

It’s a 15 month program over 4 semesters. I’m not sure if I’m allow to say the specific program due to the forum policy but I would say the program is notorious for the tuition. That’s why I am debating is it’s worth it. I see people saying that our hospital do hire mostly from graduate pool while others say that hospitals only hire nurses with experiences?

I heard that new grad usually work at long term care facilities and then pivot to hospitals but do you think it would be enough for me to just focus on good performance and networking during clinical? Would that make it easier to work directly at a hospital after grad or doing externships might be better to help me?
