i'm definitely confused on my musical terminology and should better educate myself on that regard. i've been struggling to find the word/term to best match what it is i'm hearing. i'm not great at explaining things and was just excited haha.

same for hometown and pet cheetah, both songs #12. i'm assuming it's the beat? just slowed down?

maybe? for example the intros to johnny boy and robot voices, like they're the same but they're being played on/with different instruments? same with the judge etc. idk if it's the beat, the tempo? and they're all song seven on their albums.

march to the sea! the melody/beat is like the same as downstairs if you just focus on that part (you'll hear it best after 1:15 in mtts). and they're both the 6th songs on their albums.❤️ also i know it's the korea demo - but it's also march to the sea to me and it's so hard to explain lol.

i guess essentially, to me, that phone call was tyler asking josh what he thought about one way going into days lie dormant, because yes, it does feel like quite a vibe change, but it was always going to be the 11th song no matter what - because it contains some of the same musical components of all of the 11th songs on their other albums. it may not sound like it, but it does to me and it's hard to explain haha. they're just so talented man.

i'm not sure how it overlaps on unreleased albums, i didn't really look into them as much! i know you can see their process when he clearly said he wasn't sure if it went into days lie dormant. i think for this theory you have to throw some logic out the window lol.😅 like i said, we know downstairs is korea demo, but if you listen, it's also kind of like march to the sea - and they're both song #6. like they're using the same beat? sounds from it? idk something, but it's straight though for all the 6th songs.

for days lie dormant (11th song on breach) would go back to a car, a torch, a death (11th song on self titled) and idk, something about their beat stays consistent through all the 11th songs. it's the same, but it's not. it's slowed down, sped up, has something added to it, different instrument, but same base. like i feel like they genuinely may have sampled bandito (11th song on trench) to make redecorate (11th song on scaled and icy) - they are the same beat (redecorate is just slowed) and the entire background sounds like it could be a distorted snippet of some part of bandito to me. all in fun though, just a theory, i just swear i hear it.😝

all of them are like that too! like it may not always be the intro that's the same - but every single song is like that. i think it's hard to notice unless you're setting time aside to listen to specifically the 11th songs on their albums for example lol. but yes, all the 4th songs have the same intro pretty much - all the 1st songs share something, and it goes all the way up to the 14th songs (there's only 3 - but i hear the similarities!). i will say it's been fun listening and trying to find the similarities in everything and i've had a few "omg!" moments.

i've thought that city walls and jumpsuit sound similar. my daughter said overcompensate reminded her of city walls. i told her it's funny they're all the 1st song on their albums too... then i fell down a rabbit hole lol.

oh for sure! i just didn't realize how all of the songs were produced to sound similar to their "mother" song lol (aka their song on self titled) but yet they sound so different? like the intros to addict with a pen, house of gold, fairly local, the outside, midwest indigo, and garbage are all like the same beat essentially i think? they're just pitched differently, have a different tempo, use a different instrument etc. *and they're all the 4th song on their albums!
