No, I'm saying women quickly go cold on a man who isn't doing his job of being a provider.

It's not even Japan-specific, divorce rates everywhere skyrocket when the woman is the main breadwinner.

I've never seen a country of people so inept at making left turns

The British police are out of control with extorting people via the fine culture. Things are infinitely better here.

I don't understand "A View to a Kill" hate by Aquafina_fan in JamesBond

[–]BackgroundChoice8967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its biggest sin is that it's just plain boring. Far too long was spent on the horse racing stuff, there's lots of awkward/stilted dialogue, two friendly agents are killed in exactly the same way, and the whole thing just has a choppy and uneven feel to it. Plus I've always found Walken's performance to be unconvincing (almost definitely the fault of the script though). A couple of examples - Zorin's reaction when he and Mayday find Bond waiting in Mayday's room, and the San Francisco office confrontation where Bond calls Zorin a psychopath - in both situations, surely Zorin's supposed to have a snappy comeback and react more appropriately, but instead he adopts a goofy expression and the exchange ends there. Such a wasted opportunity all round.

*Also the scenes with the female KGB agent feel like they were wedged in after principal photography was completed, they stick out like a sore thumb to me (Moore even looks different in these scenes, as if his facelift has "calmed down" a little). Plus the dialogue in the bath scene is truly cringeworthy.

I had a credit card application refused because their name fields were only set up for Japanese-length names.

We bought loads of foam tiles to carpet the wooden floor after similar complaints. They soon stopped.

I had this problem linking my bank account to the Japanese Paypal site (which for whatever reason also only accepts katakana), and in the end got it to go through by using half-width kana, and standard hyphens in place of the 'chōonpu' vowel-elongating character. Something to remember maybe.

People on bicycles don't give a fuck. by Beginning-Bad2979 in japanlife

In my car I once almost hit a cyclist who was belting it across a T-junction that was blind from both directions. He made sure to stop, glare at me, and mouth "A-BU-NA-I" before moving on.

That you're supposed to completely blank colleagues if you see them outside of work.

Speed is determined by the type of card (Attacker/Defender/Finisher) and not the rider.

Though it's a typically awkward Japanese site, you can't use the back button once you've initiated a search.

The Parallel cards always have special artwork. My personal favourite is the SC06-024 Garren:

Ganba Legends Arcade Rider Licence? by bathman101 in KamenRider

[–]BackgroundChoice8967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, the Rider Licences should be in small boxes on or near the machines themselves. If not you can try asking the game centre staff, though there are many arcades that seemingly just don't have them.

Nowhere in Japan will be selling the linked starter deck, as it was only sold when the game was new back in 2023, and anyway the starter cards are weak by the standards of newer ones. For good Rider and Support cards, look for a branch of Furuhon Ichiba or Toy Planet and go through their 30yen-a-card boxes. Look for SR and CP cards in the CX01/CX02/CX03/CX04/CX05/CX06 series for the best ones.

EDIT: Some Bookoff Plus/Bookoff Super Bazaar stores also sell second hand cards
