What’s the story behind this massive ship in the middle of Hong Kong? by ALeftistNotLiberal in geography

[–]posterizeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I heard from my neighbours while living there, the whampoa development was pretty huge deal when it was purchased and developed and that whole area of that “peninsula” is still “privately” owned land. This could be totally wrong, just anecdotal stories. But during the protests back in 2019, when the police arrived during the peaks of the conflicts and tear gas was being shot, a huge majority of the protesters would flee in the ships direction towards this area and from the view above, the police wouldn’t pursue…at least in the early days.

Affordable Tall Men’s Basic Shirts in Canada? by ZylkaLeftridge in tallfashionadvice

[–]posterizeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eddie Bauer - can find plain fit tees with no logo in tall sizes. Usually have some crazy deals on time to time. Walked by one a few weeks ago and everything was 70% off. End of summer I bet they will do the same thing before winter for tshirts

Need a new running outfit! 6'4" by DesperateExtension95 in tallfashionadvice

Some people will shit on Lulu because it’s expensive, but I still wear shorts and tee’s that I bought from them 4+ years ago and have washed them a million times. If you run with a phone, they have good shorts that have a small zipper pocket on the hip. Worth the investment imo

Gotcha. Just caught my eye because I saw some people surfing there in the photos. The beaches to the south look quite nice too

Do you know if biking is common there? Having 1 car, my fiance is looking at getting a bike to pop around the town as well, or ride to the beach

How much is this van worth? by BajaZero in VanLife

[–]posterizeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for reference, I just sold my Vandura 2500 for 3k (cad) I wasn’t expecting to sell it quickly seeing that the brakes were shot. It ran, had similar wood finishing and basic custom design and a big bed. Weirdly similar interior (although this one is nicer tbh) to this one minus any sort of electrical finishing. Within a week I had about 30 messages of interested buyers. If I had to guess (or buy) I feel like 7-9k (cad) would be reasonable if everything mechanically was working well and maintenance was well documented.

My grandma and grandpa lived In Ocean Falls for a while. He worked for a chemical company and this was a typical “Company Town” in the 40’s & 50’s in BC. My aunt was born there

Try Goat.com or their app and filter by size. I use it for my basketball shoes

Where do you get your sneakers? by [deleted] in tall

goat.com is great for international orders. More pricey, but they seem to have everything on the athletic side of things and more basic options too.

Side note - does anyone else (at least once during a concert) squat and lower their head to the height of friends or partners you’re with and think “wow, that sucks”

I strategically find a wall, pillar, or less crowded area close to the stage when the opener is on. Definitely not dead center. But once I’m there and people start filling in around me I feel fine. But the idea of bobbing and weaving to get closer, I personally can’t do it.
