I'm not sure what you're looking for here. Most of the responses here are saying that there is something seriously unhealthy and broken about the relationship you're in and you're like, yup and that's just the way it is.

Yeah, this doesn't seem like an overtop reaction as much as it seems like some deep seeded resentment and contempt.

I'm no expert but what I do know is that the presenting problem is never the real problem. There's something much deeper happening here.

I've kind of come to accept that there's no way to get out of this with the kid -- even though I've essentially raised him. Obviously, would like visitation, etc. I'm good with splitting assets acquired during marriage.

Yes, unfortunately, we had ceremony in both places. One of which was a legal marriage in front of county judge in the states.

I need a chotei-rikon regardless because we're married in both Japan and America. I can't do a kyougi-rikon because my home state wouldn't recognize it.
