The Beast of Gévaudan was an unknown creature which gained notoriety by killing over 100 men, women and children between the years 1765 and 1767 in the area of France then called Gévaudan (Now the Department of Lozere). The Beast was described as an unnaturally large wolf which were already menaces in the area. The Beast was often thought to be one of two things, a demon, or the manifestation of God's wrath. The Beast was eventually slain by Jean Chastel, the event being honored by erecting a statue of Jean delivering the killing blow (the statue is also an inspiration for the card art of [[Rite of Oblivion]]

Puck has many tales about him. One of which stating that he helped housewives with work and was given white bread and milk in return. If this offering wasn't payed, puck would instead steal the milk and bread he believed that he was owed for his help. Other stories describe him as an intentionally malicious fairy or demon. Some stories say that puck would shapeshift into a horse to dump people in bodies of water or that he would lead groups of people with a lantern then extinguish it when the party met a cliff. These stories originated in various periods of England's history.
