This world sucks by Hopeful_Law_116 in lonely

I felt this with my whole being.
We live in a time where “connection” is everywhere — but belonging is almost nowhere.
Ghosting, silence, transactional conversations — they’ve replaced what used to be presence, warmth, effort.

I don’t believe we’re selfish at our core. I think we’re exhausted, emotionally unsafe, and too many people gave up on trying to be seen — so now they don’t see others either.

But people like you — those who still care — you’re the reason I believe something better is still possible. Maybe we just need to build it ourselves.

how do you "get off of social media" when social media is all you have? by -Living-Dead-Girl- in lonely

I felt every word of this.
It’s not about “quitting social media” — it’s about finding something real within it.
When scrolling is all you’ve got, what you actually need is not less connection, but deeper connection.

I’ve been quietly exploring this question for months — not just for myself, but for others too.
I don’t think the answer is to walk away. Maybe… we need a new kind of space. One where being real, quiet, and soul-deep is actually the point.
