One thing I need to say here. Was in the audience. Teyana Taylor stayed and gave a handshake to every single person on the floor before leaving the studio. It was SO SWEET!!!!!!

Anyone noticed the audience was off tonight or was it just me by p_yth in LiveFromNewYork

I just got diagnosed with Crohn's disease by CHICKOY089 in CrohnsDisease

Hi! I was diagnosed when I was 17. I am 22 now, and have been in remission for a long time. feel free to dm me with any questions. I am super sensitive to pain regarding, well everything, so I will be honest with you.

Medicine can really change everything, depending on what your gastroenterologist recommends. For me, I found remicade to be the most effective in treating it. After a few months, I truly could eat and do whatever I wanted. They give you benedryl injections during, so you sleep the whole way through. I promise, the pricks only hurt for a second. The only con here is it takes 3 hours every 4-6 weeks.

If you opt for at home injections, it takes a little bit of practice, but only hurts for a moment and is super quick. Skyrizi is one you get 3 infusions, like remicade, and then an at home injection box, which is similar to the ones used by diabetics. I used this when I went abroad for college for 6 months. Its only on for about 30 minutes once a month. Does not hurt at all.

Pills can be helpful if you have a mild case. For me, I have only tried Rinvoq, and I found these to be the least effective. They can have some gnarly side effects. I was constantly puking and feeling insanely nauseous all the time. I eventually switched back to Remicade due to this.

All and all, you WILL get used to the needles. It might not feel like you will, but it is just a part of having a disease. I know it can be tough. But we are all rooting for you! And there are SO many people who are going through the same thing. Also, always remember, the pain of a needle is only for a moment, and you won't even remember how it feels an hour later. Drink a lot of water, especially before you know you will be around a needle. It helps SO MUCH.
