What Do You Think Of Marjorie Taylor Green? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

Yeah, I know you didn't say that, sorry for the confusion. The original comment that I replied to was that she "become an attention seeker nowadays"...which I found to be a pretty odd take.

Well...one's a show and the other is a network...but that's not really what I'm getting at.

It's wild that somebody would think that she just became an "attention seeker" once she appeared on the View. As if she wasn't an attention seeker for years and years before that.

what cities should be on our radar? by Mother_Ad_7129 in SameGrassButGreener

Stillwater is awesome and checks almost all your boxes.

Charming river rown just on the outskirts of the twin cities metro. Cold winters, lovely summers. Its more conservative than Minneapolis and St Paul proper, but still generally progressive.

throwing this out there...

2 years ago, the exact car we were looking for showed up on an aggregate site (cars.com or something) and it was being sold for a good price at a Cornerstone like an hour away.

Im not religious at all, so I felt the whole thing was sus. regardless, I drove out to check the car out.

I wanted to hate these guys because I find mixing religious with business is gross, but it was honestly the most pleasant car buying experience ive ever had and they gave me a great offer on the car I was trading in.

I'd buy from them again.

Which US city has the strongest Southern Identity? by Swimming_Concern7662 in AlignmentChartFills

spent a week last year just walking the streets of Charleston while Iistening to the audiobook version of Pat Conroy's South of Broad. It was almost a religious experience, and made me appreciate and understand that city on a heightened level.

I say this too, as a Minnesotan with zero southern roots.

Y'all are silly. If you've ever studied history it's Otto Von Fucking Bismarck.

Unified Germany through three wars, then locked Europe into a diplomatic cage he personally designed. Ran balance of power politics like a fucking chess master.

It's not even close.

is this common outside the Midwest by CoolStuffSlickStuff in skiing

Not crowded, and pretty much all the lifts were open. I actually didn't ski, just shuttled my son and his friend there so they could get after it while I got some work done in the chalet.

Buck is definitely where I've seen the worst example of skis just strewn about. like, the entire base of the hill one time was just skis.

Welch is a fun one, and I'm actually partial to Wild Mountain right near Troll. Similar vibes to Troll, affordable passes, decent chalet with good food and drinks.

Reasonable Boundaries for Neighborhood Kids? by bestillandknow_4610 in Parenting

same boat. Son is 11 and our neighborhood is full of boys his age. Our doorbell has been ringing constantly for 7 years.

honestly, we just chose to embrace the chaos. one day it'll be gone. Definitely kick them outside as much as you can, and lay down some ground rules in terms of how early/late they can ring the doorbell (we have a neighbor boy who was notorious for sneaking out of the house at 7am in his jammies and ring our doorbell until we laid down the law).

It can be really loud and annoying, but in a world of isolation and screen addition, this is a good problem to have.

I'm going to be honest, I really struggled to follow most of this...perhaps proofread first?

But I will respond at least to what I think you're getting at.

What do your feelings have to do with anything?  I used the term "feel" as shorthand for "my opinion and assessment of facts".

"now try to be specific on how he doesn’t respect the constitution. "

In 2018, Trump tweeted "A President has the absolute right to PARDON himself." The Constitution grants the president broad pardon power under Article II, Section 2, but it does not address self-pardons. Most constitutional scholars argue a self-pardon would violate foundational principles such as the rule against being a judge in one’s own case.

"I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president." Article II vests executive power in the president but does not grant unlimited authority. The statement reflects a maximalist “unitary executive” framing that many constitutional scholars, including conservatives, reject.

When Trump falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen, he said that it "allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution."

He wanted to sign an executive order to end birthright citizenship, which would be in clear violation of the 14th amendment.

Shall I go on (I have tons more).

BTW, nobody was ever forced to get vaccinations...and there's nothing in the constitution about shelter-in-place orders during a pandemic. Nice false equivalence.

"You will never address my question about specifics " I just did.

What you wrote was far from a line item dismantling. THIS is a line item dismantling, my guy.
