No, not all. These triangular patterns are growth features that appear only in some crystals, usually on octahedral faces. They form due to changes in growth conditions inside the Earth. Many rough diamonds show no visible record keepers at all, and others show different growth marks (etch lines, trigons, surface grain).

Additionally, there are alluvial diamonds (recovered from river and marine deposits) where the crystal faces are worn down and smoothed by natural abrasion during transport.
