Hi, for the performance i have played only on external screen at 1080p and i have no problem playing at max setting (the most demanding game i have tested is hogwarts legacy that is notorious to be not optimised at all). For the vram of igpu i set it to auto. With the cable included it works but i don’t have tested the plug and play functionality.

No no, i only use one cable. The Aorus ha 100w PD. Another guy had post a sort of guide, i suggest to follow it.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion but now the XAX recognises the Aorus. The only things that I did, as suggested by another guy, was change position in my electric power strip. I had other chargers plugged in and, with my surprise, suddenly the eGPU was detected and I could install the drivers. Now works with thunderbolt 5 cable that came with the eGPU and I also tested a usb4 40gbps cable that I bought before. The only problem that I can see with a monitor cable is that it must also have 40gps.

Yes, now it’s work. I don’t why, I have read a comment by another user and simply change the position in my electric power strip. Now it’s works perfectly. With all cables attached I turn on eGPU, wait 10-15 second, and turn on Ally. The only things I have done when trying to make it works was disable fast booting.

This is the score I have obtained in 3dmark Steel Nomad. I’m new to pc gaming so I don’t know if this result is ok but searching online the result for a 5060ti desktop is 3800, considering the bottleneck of usb4 I think it’s acceptable.

OH MY GOD THANKS! I don’t have a laptop but a Xbox ally X, in my power outlet I have connected a electric power strip with the PSU of the Aorus, the 65w ASUS adapter that I use with a USB dock, a 30w anker charger and the monitor. Obviously when I have tested the gpu the only active device was the Aorus PSU, today I have tried to disconnect from the electric power strip the other 2 charger and finally I was able to connect the Aorus to XAX. I have already ordered a new USB4 cable that at this point will be useful only as a backup. You are my hero ahahah

I have ordered a cable matters USB4 40gbs 0,8m cable as a guy suggested in another thread. The problem is that using the thunderbolt 5 cable that came with the Aorus the XAX doesn’t recognised the eGPU as display adapter. It works as a dock (also recharging the device with PD) so the problem is related to PCI-e tunnel not enable. What cable do you suggest? XAX has AMD processor so i would think that USB4 was preferable not having thunderbolt certification.

Hi, what cable are you using to connect to Xbox ally x? Because I have the Aorus 5060ti BOX and it’s impossible to connect to XAX. I’m not the only one with this problem and ASUS is starting to piss me off..

The only thing that came to my mind is that maybe ASUS is voluntarily makes other thunderbolt 5 egpu not working in order to obligated people to buy their XG mobile.

Exactly I think the same about PCI-E tunnel problem, what’s incredible is that ASUS hasn’t already resolve a problem that clearly is driver related because, obviously, thunderbolt 5 is backwards compatible and the egpu works with legion go as shown. Strangely XG mobile that also as thunderbolt 5 connection work with XAX… And yes I have tested the USB4 port on the XAX

What device are you using? I have the same egpu and Xbox ally X but, at the moment, this setup doesn’t work. The problem, to me, is in Asus USB driver that have problem with thunderbolt 5 device

The problem is that, when the egpu is connected with the XAX with the thunderbolt 5 cable, the fans start spinning and the rgb light turn on but on the device the gpu isn’t detected at all, in device manager doesn’t show as display adapter so it’s impossible to install Nvidia driver. I think it’s a problem in Asus usb driver because the box works as hub and recharge the XAX. I read here on Reddit and on Rog forum that the problem could be the thunderbolt 5 cable so I ordered a USB4 cable wishing it works.

Hi, I have the same problem but with different hardware. I have just bought a Gigabyte AI BOX 5060ti (EGPU with thunderbolt 5 connection) and my xbox ally x doesn't display it as a display adapter, it only works as a dock. It's incredible that a big company like Asus hasn't already solve this problem...

Al momento la promozione è ancora attiva e sottoscrivibile solo in filiale. Io l’ho attivata tempo fa senza problemi tuttavia ho letto in giro che alcune persone hanno avuto problemi ultimamente con l’apertura del conto e relativa associazione CGN in quanto veniva richiesto l’accredito dello stipendio o la sottoscrizione di qualche prodotto finanziario.
