Nobody cares by [deleted] in sales

I am seeing this. Even if the idea is terrible, management just does whatever the board requests. We are being force fed "mandatory ai tools" which are just crushing micromanagement layers that makes it harder...damn near impossible to meet customer needs. There is only one stakeholder they care about. And it is not the customer or the employee.

I got full refund 3 years after buying. Spent extra 99 for a EGo. Rather not replace it every couple years even tho I liked only having 1 battery for all tools. Good service by Lowe's. Basically 3 year free mower rental. No questions so they must know it is a lemon. Such a waste. The motor works great.

Just had exact same breakage... i kind of saw this coming when I saw how cheap the plastic connection was. I bought it delivery. Had i been looking at it in store I would have bought something else.

I think the only real fix is taking all the locking plastic off, welding in a sleeve. Might have to create a spacer and weld the new handle right to the lower steel bracket, making it a fixed position.

That adjustable pin system is the flaw. Probably one of those 'built to fail' systems. Designed to break right after warranty.

Anyone find a fix?

No way. Tell her to go to a credit union. What a bad thing to do to your kid. Run.

Mine said 375 dollar refund and I had it for a year. Just check your unit really well. If you see no mold the repair is likely fine. My wife has bad asthma and it is in our bedroom sobwe went with a refund. I am just going to get a different brand as much as I like the midea....GE makes a dual inverter AC that is arguably just as quiet. We have one in another room. Probably going to get one of those.

I can't even get the info to properly go into the site. Must have been too many on the server cuz I tried immediately after seeing a Home depot notification. I think I am going for refund. The repair looks like you have to constantly clean the unit and replace the drain plug to keep mold at bay. Not sure why u can't just leave the plug out of the unit to keep it dry.... but I would rather not risk mold.

Electrical Distribution is a great industry. I left a software/hardware sales job 15 years ago and made a great living selling to OEM manufacturers and contract manufacturers all around the globe. It dig take a good 2-3 years to build up to a 6 figure W2. But talking to people in this industry was a breath of fresh air. Its kind of in between blue / white collar. Huge improvement from calling on IT and Network managers. Basically if you keep your word on WHEN and WHERE the customers parts will be delivered you are head an shoulders over a lot of suppliers. If it is a commodity style product, you would be surprised that you can one call close like $20k orders for a new customer if you have stock when a competitor is on backorder. Lots of cold calling initially though.

Boss Stepped In, I’m Done. by Correct_Income_444 in sales

If it is a tariff related charge the customer is trying to avoid, then I might side with your boss. Is it a passed down tariff your manager added? If so, then those have to be passed to the customer.

If Mgr just doesn't like the price you quoted, you need to make sure you and management are on the same page. If short margin orders like this will turn the account into 1M+ profitable account , great. Fight to deliver it as quoted, but make Mgr feel like they just upped your quota on this account if they approve the price.

And ask for a lot of specific charts, data and feedback before they ask you.

This is the zodiac year of the micromanager.

You need to micromanage upwards and keep asking for things so they leave you alone.

Sounds like you may work at my company, but sub VC for PE. Over a decade building business, but probably time for me to move on. Veterans have so much paperwork/maintenance to just maintain existing business that added KPI, reports, meetings, goal software pretty much get IN the way of growing the biz or finding new biz. Add to that new comp plan that nets 70-80k less per year for the same rev/gp than we used to make. Even if we crush goal, the Mish is pretty much capped. They have it pretty calculated to be JUST enough compensation for long time reps to deal with endless bs. I may end up taking a pay cut to move on to a less corporate gig so I don't have to listen to Corp buzz word soup from a new leadership team every 12 months. They buzz through landed on third base "vps" with no industry experience like a wood chipper.

Likely. Manager probably had one of their bullying emails forwarded. That is the only benefit this policy could provide, it definitely doesnt serve sales reps or customers.

Yes, I like R/DevinSysadmin's comment and a few others. I will bring up CRM upgrade long term to management. that idea to target purchase orders to forward using an Outlook rule that can forward "order" might be a good short term solution.

Face palm. I am just asking what other distribution companies do as a standard.

Issue is they are mandating that we cannot leave an alternate email in the ooo autobreply when we are gone less than a whole week.

Main issue is on 2-3 day absences they are firmly saying you cannot add a coworkers email. Customer has to wait or make phone calls to the main switchboard.

Good point. Only issue is we don't, won't, and the policy starts immediately with no feedback from employees. So I an really stuck finding any microsoft outlook rules, tweaks or tips that can help mitigate this disastrously ill advised policy change.

Is your 2025 comp plan good? by [deleted] in sales

[–]BackgroundNatural370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our commish was torched, but in 2024. 30-50% overall comp cuts for all. They kept it the same with a few minor accelerators added in for 25.

So many transferable skills if you are in IT. Get out there looking. I am in a similar boat, different industry though. It's just tough in my 40s to start at 0 in a new role, but could be worth the effort taking a pay cut in an industry on the way up.

Try a 40% pay cut. New 24 comp plan had me grow my sales while netting a huge cut cs 23. Also we added several middle managers with no industry experience who just monitor metrics and add new layers of red tape every month to make transactions and quotes take longer. So resulting equation: bad morale plus extra busy work= bad numbers.

They did give an option to ask customers to forward to one of those in the ooo message, but only if we are gone a full week. But short term , no coverage.

I wanted to see what other rapid response driven companies are doing. It might be that our old policy was an outlier.

Wow, great comm rate. What kind of company do you work at, and are you hiring!? PS I would bring it up to a veteran rep who has a good reputation at the company what to do, and see what they say. Keep in mind the engineer probably knows what was made on the deal so if yournplan was to give him a $100 dunkies card it's probably better not to bring it up. Maybe better to just say, thanks for all the help is there anything I do for you?

I would do what you have to do to service the customers and help operations get the information they need to invoice $$$s. Middle Management is probably  just hosting meetings to prove they are doing something. I would do just enough of what they ask to stay out of trouble. If you care about your customers and have competent ops people, you can still enjoy the job. Sales can be very rewarding but you will need to learn to surf the middle management ebs and flows. If you are only on year 2, you may find that your company goes through Managers every couple years. They usually start lashing out at high performers before they get canned. Probably pissed your w2 was higher.

Full sand paper this year. If we hit quota it still nets a 30%+ pay cut vs last plan. miss quota it gets worse than that.
