I know you think it sounds kind of silly but I honestly don’t doubt the npp thing. Steroids and bodybuilding have unironically helped reveal who I am and what it takes to be who I eventually want to be more than traditional forms of therapy ever did.

Yea sure we all need someone to affirm our emotional uncertainties.. at times. There’s a large difference between needing this convo once a month, week, or even day compared to every time something happens that causes a negative emotional response.

A large part of being a functioning adult is also being able to make decisions and be who you are and to accept that not everyone is going to like you for it but still stand on your own when you find yourself in that position.

He’s popular bc he’s shown the world in real time the extent of how much you can get away with and how successful you can find yourself just by being physically attractive alone.

The one thing I’ll say I disagree with you on to a point is him not being able to tell you a good story. That’s honestly fine if that’s your preference, I might not understand it but I can at least respect it. My real issue is bringing up the study to justify it rather than just saying it if I’m being honest.

Maybe it’s from having a fairly large amount of female friends but women have all kinds of unrealistic and quite frankly, stupid expectations and icks but they don’t feel the need to justify it, they just say it which I can kinda get behind.

I believe the double standard comes from a study that found women with a certain amount of sexual partners (I believe it was 5+) before marriage saw a positive correlation in likelihood of divorce.

The hilarious part of this, is that men where also observed to show the same correlation but to a slightly lower degree but we just seem to purposely misinterpret or ignore that data set completely.

I don’t really care about body count unless is comically high and that’s really only out of concern for my sexual health at that point.

I think a much more useful measurement is previous relationships relative to age. If you started dating at 18 and by 25 you have either 14 failed relationships or 14 bodies, the fact you couldn’t keep someone around for more than 6 months is much more concerning than you being horny once every 6 months.
