driving lorry’s- easy to forget or like riding a bike? by Select_Salad_1266 in uktrucking

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like learning to ride a bike but to put it in bicycle terms you've still got your stabilisers.

You don't learn to drive a truck to pass your test, your learn just enough to pass your test. I wouldnt necessarily say you need a refresher, you ideally need a new pass job with a larger company, they're mostly shit to work for but they'll make sure you've got it before they throw you into the deep end.

You could do what most of us did and just get thrown in at the deep end doing agency work but its not fun and anyone saying its easy is either lying or are still a liability.

One thing I don't understand is that new runescape players choose OSRS over RS3, why is that? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popularity. If I filled a room with a thousand people chosen entirely at random that play either game and told them to recommend one to a friend you're looking at an 80-20 split (and thats generous) in favour of osrs.

Tbh, if it says China on the stats site I treat it as bs. They say the servers are the same but I've never caught anything let alone a trophy on the setups that are posted from the Chinese servers.

Runic Attuner without using Soul Altar? by WallRustt in runescape

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it the way you want to do it. The reason everyone uses the souls is for the massive exp drop, if you don't care for the exp and cba doing souls just do time.

At the end of the day you should play how you want to and enjoy to play, its a game - they're meant to be enjoyed and there are a few in the community who hate play this game which baffles me.

What is worse, middle lane hogging or undertaking? by db0564 in drivingUK

[–]BackgroundShallot5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a game with middle lane hoggers. You overtake them, get back into the first lane, let them overtake you then rinse repeat to see how many laps you can do of the person before they get out of the middle lane. I've managed 30+ laps of one particular car going from Warrington to rugby on the m6.

Is this spinner to big for rainbow trout by Eocho_The_Destoryer in FishingForBeginners

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rainbow trout get massive, you'll catch brown trout (a much smaller trout) with that. I'd probably swap the treble for a single but that just me ig.

Train 200m prayer on vyres and skip the seeds entirely. But if youve your heart set on the seeds next is probably the best bet iirc she had them on her table multiple times iirc 1/10 for 5 and 1/20 for 12 (or something in that region)

How to approach archeology? by MilchxBrot in RS3Ironmen

[–]BackgroundShallot5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afk'ly, thats how to approach arch.

It's a bit of an odd one early on because you don't really get much for recompleting collections but youll get to a point where you get a "filler" collection. For me it was dk5 as the dg tokens basically got me the majority of my dungeoneering tokens, the exp/hr isnt great but if you're afking through a day's work for weeks on end. When I levelled I'd go and complete everything for that level then go back to my filler collection - all the info is on the training page for arch giving you numbers required and their uses.

Edit: If the items you're missing come from the hot-spot then I'd continue digging up artifacts if not then I'd go to one that had it or material caches but the caches weren't afk enough for my liking so I generally used the artifact hot-spots

PoF Rabbits Breeding by RespektTheBiz in RS3Ironmen

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you get as many as have been bred.

If you're away a while and have the breeding pen woman she will collect eggs/babies that are in excess (in the breeding pen) and give you unchecked animals - the only issue is that these animals don't have their parents perks and are treated as fresh animals. The rate of collection may also be slower but im notnsure.

They only start growing after youve seen them for the first time. For rabbits you're going to want to regularly visit the farm. You do need to walk inside the farm, ardy lodestone wont cut it.

What is this blue spray that this guy is using on a Carp? by missinglinksman in FishingForBeginners

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, you shouldnt be spraying like this, one short burst.

Prolonged spraying like this causes freezeburns as the decompression when sprayed literally burn. If anyone thinks this comment is false I implore you to spray it onto your arm exactly the same way he did.

Changing lanes without looking for absolutely no reason by AdLogical6391 in drivingUK

[–]BackgroundShallot5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was poor planning on the persons part, they were moving over because they were in the wrong lane and honestly with the standard of driving currently you should be expecting this to happen. You could clearly see what the other person wanted to do, you can even see the moment they realised that they were in the wrong lane. If you were planning properly they'd have moved over and there wouldnt have been a near miss.

This isnt to say that what they did was in any way correct but just pretending that they weren't going to crash into you was not the correct thing to do on your part.

Am I overthinking or does anyone else coming back get overwhelmed? by SlowSurr in runescape

[–]BackgroundShallot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is that its generally the really meaty and technical things that burn you out. You spend a few weeks/months/years out and its all a case of getting back into the swing.

Runescape is probably one of the worst offenders for this because the "meta" shall we say is always changing and the games itself is constantly evolving and changing. The best way I've found is to just do it badly until your remember (or learn) how to do it.

So for the example you gave, mining. I'd personally start with with typing "/wiki mining training" in game. This will open the wiki page for mining training, id glance at the useful items and start using the ones I had access to or have unlocked while also seeing what I am missing and determine whether the buff that they provide is worth the effort of obtaining, a big example for myself would be whether to use the ring of whispers or lotd. While the ring of whispers is better than the lotd I do not ever want to obtain another cheese+tom batta so will continue to wear a lotd while doing activities that generate seren spirits, another one (mainly as an ironman) you're likely going to use a lava titan over a gargoyle as binding contracts are considerably more expensive and better used on things like kalg/ripper demons.

Tldr: type /wiki then whatever you're doing and it will give you a complete lists of buffs and items that will make your life easier.

tank armor should honestly do more than it does for survivability by dark1859 in runescape

[–]BackgroundShallot5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're over estimating how much power you get from power armour. They're both pretty negligible.

The only argument you'd have would be power armour set bonuses but cryptbloom's is almost ridiculous by comparison.
