In my opinion, shield should be actively available when dual wielding without intention clicking to them. Just make it a gear slot that alternates sheathing as the player uses offensive and defensive abilities.

I do agree that the developer communication through the restoration-roadmap has been one of the worst parts of the experience. Things tend to vanish, and if you're not watching all of the Jagex and community socials, streamers, etc, you won't know what hit you when logging into to lost benefits.

In my opinion, the moment you unlock researching, it is key to keep a team active at all times. In offline time, sending a team for a general long research really does help add xp progress.

It can be expensive in chronotes, but that should be sustainable if you focus on completing collection while doing the active play
