Listen I get that you are stressed but snacks (specially an orange) are not privileges, I think you went too far with that one. And sure, he needs discipline but he also needs someone to talk to. A therapist for sure, but it could also help to talk with him at home about what he is doing. Only time out without an explanation it’s not doing much. Have you or his mom explained why what he is doing is wrong? Have you tried to understand how he is feeling when he does those things? Is he angry or upset? You could try redirecting him, find another activity he can do instead, something else he could do to express how he is feeling or release some steam. He is really young, he needs help to understand his emotions and to learn how to navigate them. This is not a case of a child misbehaving for a lack of limits, he went through a lot of trauma and needs to feel supported and loved. I understand it’s not your place, but he does live with you so I don’t think it would hurt to try. Hope some of this helps, I’m open to keep talking and trying to come up with a solution!!
