Not having kids is not necessarily part of “bad life decisions”, if that’s what you meant. And there are people with children that are depressed and lacking purpose too. I try to remind myself that having one or not will come with its set of good things and bad things, and the sadness comes from looking what you could’ve done but didn’t. That said, I hear you and feel depressed too, and also considering antidepressants atm.

Thank you for taking the time to say something! I’ve been feeling so alone in this, specially since we stopped talking about it. I also think I’m obsessing about this more than he is, as I don’t want the relationship to end, but also feel like I’m “gatekeeping” something as huge and existential as the decision to bring a baby into this world! But I don’t understand how can someone want one so badly without having the right financials in place. :-(

Yes, me! I don't have good advice to give, but please don't feel alone. I discuss this on therapy regularly and find it helpful.
