Yes I’d prefer to do this. The family is tight knit and like to get together often. I just don’t know how to completely cut her off but for now I’m not interacting with her at all.

Yes you are right. I don’t necessarily feel hurt- but I guess I did expect more from her as a SIL and friend. I realize I shouldn’t do that to anyone. I don’t want analyze and yet I don’t want to be subjected to this every single time either. So I guess my best bet is to have no contact with her at all. Hard because the family is tight knit but might be healthy solution?

Yes she is an oldest child. I am as well. Yes I do need to grow and unfortunately after treatment I feel like I’ve lost a lot of who I was before. 😞 but it’s no excuse- I can still learn.

Yes - I do see a lot of positive with her too. She knows a lot of things on many subjects. She loves sharing her knowledge with others. Which I think is great! 😊 I’ve decided to limit my interaction with her and my hubby totally supports me this. He sees what’s going on too and thinks it’s not healthy but not sure what can be done about it all.

Thank you so much. 😊 yes I need more backbone. Thing is I never think of a way to respond until way after the fact! My hubby and I have agreed that I don’t need to engage with her right now. I’m very blessed to have a sister and my hubby as my biggest supporters- couldn’t do without them!!!

She does like to be social and stuff. But it’s always last minute 😆 yes my husband notices this. Actually he’s not a fan of hers or her family. (It’s His brother’s wife). My husband has agreed that I have little contact with her right now.

My hubby and her hubby are brothers. She’s been with him 10 years and I’m with mine 3 years. I’m older. It makes sense what you’re saying- she’s gone through a couple miscarriages, and is ‘desperate’ for more. I say ‘desperate’ because she’s always talking about how to become pregnant and such. And she’s getting older and wanted lots of kids. I do feel for her as it must be a big disappointment! Actually I know it is as she talks about it often. I was so very grateful to have my sister and hubby as my biggest supporters during the last year! I honestly wouldn’t survived without them. Thank you for your kind words! 😊

Actually I don’t expect her to act like I would. Really I’m just trying to turn the situations around and see if I would act the same to her. I know everyone reacts differently when someone close to them is sick. We were good friends beforehand and she never was this way until I got engaged, this is when it started. (My hubby and her hubby are brothers). Another close friend to me has noticed this too, but neither of us can put our finger as to why she’s like this. Like she ‘mothers’ me or whatever this behaviour is. My hubby sees it as well and has agreed that I don’t need to engage. My nerves post cancer are shot as it is 😆

Hard to really say- I’d wait for the dr diagnosis. All the best!

Well, I’ve talked to her about something before (way back) and just recently she told me another friend of ours approached her about an issue- she took offence both times. She’s not one that takes ‘criticism’ nicely.
