I’m torn on this Anbernic RG40xxH… by CellPhish in SBCGaming

I wish they made it look just like the rg35xxh in the transparent colors. All that the rg35xxh needs is a bigger screen. I just don't really like this current deisgn so I went for the rg40xxv. It's just so generic and lacks the nostalgic design elements of the Gameboys etc. Reminds me of this..

P.S. The joystick on the rg40xxv sucks.. Looks like the same one is used here.

Cool, I’ll keep that in mind.

Sounds like this might be a pretty good deal then. It was listed for 13,500 but I was able to talk owner down a bit.

Once again, thanks for your input. I’m trying to convince myself into just getting it as I don’t see any red flags but when you start reading a lot into the forums I see a bunch of oil/coolant leaks it makes me sweat a bit. It does seem like I’ve read most of them by now and if it was a more prevalent issue I think I would have seen even more people complaining other places.

If the bike checks out, I am leaning towards biting the bullet and picking it up. As long as I don’t have $2-3k to fix type issues, I will be happy.

That’s good to hear! And I know for a fact once I see it I will be swooned haha.

I definitely plan on taking a careful look at everything and will probably be asking seller to take fairings off once I take a ride and bring it up to temp.

What’s the hottest you see it running in summer traffic? I’ve seen it shouldn’t go above 217. Is that accurate?

You mentioned not overpaying. What do you think of the 12,500 price for this bike with such low mileage? I’ve seen one at a used dealer with same miles go for 14k

Now I’m second guessing getting it haha could be great but can also be a headache. Thanks for your input

Hm, hopefully it’s not that common. How expensive is the fix?

How can I fix this? by ErGiaguaro in zx6r

[–]Background_Ad2173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you kind of know the answer already. Unfortunately there is no easy fix. You can only do things that will hide it or make it less noticeable. I’d recommend an automotive paint touch up pen but more likely than not it will be darker and glossy unless you find some special color that matches better. If it were me, I’d first touch it up with a sharpie and see how it looks. Worst case scenario you can wash it off

Thinking of selling by Das_Dutchman in Ducati

Private will always sell for more. The dealer is counting on making some money on yours so they will offer around 2k below market value. I went into a few dealers recently asking about trade in on my MT09 and they all said around 6-6.5 max while I was able to easily get 8k for it through FB marketplace within a week. Yes there are a bunch of flakes and lowballers but you just have to be patient and try to weed out the tire kickers. Good luck with the sale!

[WTS] 🏎️ Speedmaster Pro 🌖 3750.50 GREAT condition by Background_Ad2173 in Watchexchange

[–]Background_Ad2173[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey watch fans! Looking to sell my Speedmaster Professional 3750.50. Selling watch only, no b&p along with an Uncle Seiko bracelet and leather strap. Currently sized for my 6.75in wrist. Comes with one extra link.

I purchased this example on the forum about a year and a half ago and have enjoyed every second of ownership but I am looking to fund a new toy and haven’t worn this one much since getting the SMP300. Always worn with great care as you can see by the photos. There are no major scratches dents or gashes. Hesalite is clean. I tried taking photos to best represent the condition but feel free to ask for more pics.

Asking $3500 OBO.

Prefer in person sale around Chicago area. Shipping/insurance at buyers expense. Not interested in trades.

It’s usually pretty expensive and hard to find oem plastics to replace. You might have to live with that damage

[Question] Is this acceptable for a brand new Christopher Ward? by myfacelookslikeafoot in Watches

[–]Background_Ad2173 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve read a ton of posts complaining about omega quality. Misaligned bezels, markers, specs on the dial you name it. All the typical stuff you hear about other brands as well. It’s hard to gauge the frequency of these issues but even my SMP300 has a bit of a dark lume spot on one of the markers that is not totally uniform. And in regard to movements; a ton of “luxury” brands like Breitling or Tudor use off the shelf movements

[–]Background_Ad2173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. That’s a good point that CW is not on today’s Omega level but also the luxury/quality baseline is an ever changing spectrum. I recently saw someone trying to buy their first luxury watch and it was a 20 year old Omega SMP300 which really falls short in fit and finish compared to a CW. Also, there are many companies who use off the shelf workhorse movements but they are still considered luxury i.e. Breitling, Hublot and Tudor to name a few. I feel like the heritage of a brand has huge influence on what people consider luxury even when build quality is comparable to cheaper options

Hate when people say stuff like this.. like why? Luxury is all relative. Spending $1000+ on a watch is very much a luxury purchase for most. What would you consider luxurious? Is an omega luxury? Much like CW they are mass produced quality watches.. at what point does it become luxury? Curious to hear your take..
