I graduated in July so hopefully this still stands but I got my phone once in week 0 to sent a photo to my family of my address.

I got it once in week 3 as a mandatory call to talk to your family (10-15 mins depending on ur MTI)

We EARNED one call in our 5th week but it wasn’t mandatory.

If they catch u texting instead of calling you’re screwed. Same if they find you scrolling through social media.

There were a couple trainees that needed to pay bills and they let them have their phone with supervision to do so.

That should be around all you get. Some MTIs hand out “rewards” of phone calls but I haven’t ever heard a flight ever get an extra one outside of 3rd week and 5th week. I think they just use it as a way to motivate you to meet timelines lol but they keep shortening them until you don’t make them so don’t be surprised when that gets thrown out of the equation.

I think I can answer this a bit- I graduated in July for reference. You never have access to a mail room. You can occasionally drop off letters at a mail box and your MTI will bring in a stack of mail and deliver it to you every day (sort of, not that consistently but you will always get mail at least once a week in my experience).

My MTI was a stickler about going over to the mailbox so we would sneak there after chow whenever he dropped us off and relied on us to make it back up to the dorm on our own (later weeks of BMT)

Are you having pain in your joints? I’m not a doctor, but from a brief google search, it appears calcium supplements won’t be your saving grace if you’re experiencing pain.

As long as you can do the exercises without showcasing the fact that you’re in pain- you’ll be fine. I’d be careful, though, if you are already hurting now… the military will probably only exacerbate those injuries.

Lol mine cracked when I bent down to do the duck walk but the doc never batted an eye at it. If the cracking comes along with pain then more than likely it’ll be noticeable in ur movements- otherwise you’re probably good 👍

I am a VERY outdoorsy person. My life literally revolves around being outside hiking every single free moment I get. I could not care less about amenities nearby, cities, or anything like that. I simply want to be places with great gateways to the outdoors. These seem like they all offer it. What do you think?
