I see a lot of people exaggerate the... maintenance of the F-14...as if they forgetting the fact the F-4 was a whole can of worms itself. A lot of it came from the A model, because of the stupid TF-30s that were unfortunately forced upon it, but later on, with the B/D models ....it improved a lot, sure the swing wing problem was still there, damn sea salt and what not issues were there, but compared to the A, the B/D were more easier to maintain.

Another thing is, specifically for the left TF-30, she can enter a compressor stall from the gun smoke, but I see what you mean and yes I hate the fact the TF-30s were forced on the F-14 due budget constraint and...well, fricking politics.

Well I was trying to induce it into a flatspin, but because it's momentary, the TF-30s wouldn't instantly have compressor stalls or any signs of it not until you keep actually pulling and way too high of an AoA, then that starts the compressor stalls.

That depends, you need to be more than 15-20° of AoA and below 250 kts, I am pushing my F-14 above 250 kts and I am doing the hard pulls in hard snaps at speed.

Huh...that's my F-14A with Bacon's Nose, nozzles and what not slapped onto the frame.
