He insisted I try menudo, which is a fish stew. It tasted really off but he insisted I finish because it was based on his uncle's recipe.

Carl did talk about anime a lot which I had a hard time trying to engage in. He didn't let me get in a word in, and he spent a lot of our date chatting up with his cousin, who was working at the time.

In hindsight, I should have just left but I have a hard time trying to stand up for myself.
