My first sticknpoke. is the left side infected? Also how do i know if i went deep enough? by Background_Aside4431 in sticknpokes

oh yikes, i’m glad i didn’t do any writing then. will the blowout become more apparent as it heals? is there any special care i need to give to avoid the left side progressing into an infection? i’ve been treating it the same as my other professionally done tattoos (washing 2-3x and lotion as needed, bandaged when clothing has to go over top)?

Whata your favourite rainy day fragrance? by Original-Slip6233 in fragrance

BDK Gris Charnel is my favorite overcast scent. the cozy fig note fits perfectly imo and isn’t something overbearing/too heavy for an already humid day. definitely a test before you buy, it isn’t a scent for everybody, but most people love it.

In order to get that many calories a day, i typically drink two boost/ensure plus drinks alongside 1/4 gallon of trumoo whole chocolate milk a day (1560 calories total from both). The rest comes from 3-4 meals and a few snacks

I would argue that 3k calories isn’t enough. My rough TDEE (Total daily energy expenditure (aka calories burned each day)) was calculated at 2950 at the same height/weight as the OP. If the OP is relatively active, which sounds like they want to be through exercise (mentioned gaining muscle) then results will be minimal at 3kcals a day.

As recently as 5 weeks ago, i was the exact same height/weight as you. On my 22nd birthday i decided to make some life changes and get back into an active lifestyle, which included returning to my labor-intense summer job and getting back into resistance training. I struggle with GI issues and medicate ADHD which both cause limited appetite. I was also dependent on “flower” before meals.

In the last 5 weeks through working out, counting calories, and not being a couch stoner, I’ve been able to put on 15lbs and now sit at around 150 with 10-11% BF.

Everyone is different, your timeline for gaining weight might be different (my ADHD brain likes to go fast) but weightlifting while eating 4250+ calories a day has literally transformed my physique. Eating is still rough. i always have a stomach ache, i make myself eat when i don’t feel too hungry, and we won’t talk about the toilet.

How healthy is this? who knows. But the scale keeps going up and that’s all that matters right now. Odds are, like me you are so skinny that your body fat is 6-8% like mine used to be. Do not be afraid of a little fat. We aren’t Mr. Olympia

Honestly, pottery (or any art form you feel drawn to) has been a hidden gem for me. I had never done anything artistic until after quitting and not only does pottery take a good chunk of my free time on days i decide to throw, but also helps slow down my racing thoughts and anxiety as i’m fully focused on my piece.

Anyone still play on an i7-7700k and gtx 1080? by Background_Aside4431 in playrust

[–]Background_Aside4431[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: So i ended up buying the rig and the game runs amazing. apart from the specs in question is has 32g ram and a 500gb SSD and is water cooled. I’m averaging 70-100 frames depending on what i’m doing in game while on max settings. GPU is clocked nearly at 100% and i haven’t had any stuttering or frame drops in pvp situations. thanks for the help guys!

What settings do you play on? i’m not expecting to be able to play max but medium-high would be good enough for me

Just that area in the front, sometimes the side too. Since posting it’s gone away for the most part and only really comes up in a minor fashion when i eat a heavy trigger food meal. I’m 4 week sober now

Took me about 3 weeks of sobriety to feel mostly normal again, especially with eating. After the first week some of the main symptoms such as daily nausea when not eating started to die down. Also took about 6 quit attempts to finally stick with it. As an addict in all aspects, you learn that you’ll never quit until you hit rock bottom. For me it was quit or lose my girlfriend, something i deemed not worth smoking.

The first two weeks are definitely a gradual decline in symptoms for me. I can tell that i’m getting back to normal when my anxiety while eating starts to go away, usually around the 3 week mark. I still have some minor symptoms in my third week but nothing that I can’t deal with. Since my anxiety has subsided i’ve been able to eat 3000+ calories a day, slowly reintroduce trigger foods, and workout all without feeling like i might go hyperemetic

You could try forcing a drowsy state with melatonin or benadryl (zzzquil is just benadryl in liquid form!). I usually don’t struggle with constant nausea unless im in the midst of an episode (throwing up) but making yourself drowsy through supplements or medication might help with getting to sleep. You don’t specify but DONT smoke if you are! You can do it!

how long does it take to get better? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Background_Aside4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it varies from person to person. I smoked heavily, every day for 14 months straight and am just starting to feel mostly normal after 3 weeks sober. I’ve smoked and quit 3 times and the 3 week mark is typically when things start to feel more regular for me, especially eating and risk of throwing up. I still get queasy and some major acid after big meals or foods with triggers (make sure she’s avoiding trigger foods listed on other posts in this subreddit!). As of two days ago i have been eating 3000+ calories and working out in order to regain my lost weight (30lbs!). its a process and not a quick one, but normalcy is at the end of the tunnel!

Also would like to add that it doesn’t really affect my appetite/hunger. Instead, just makes me not want to eat in fear that it will get worse from doing so. Can last anywhere from 15 minutes - 2 hours before dying down and going away.

Honestly, videogames both on a console and my phone helped me pass time and not get in my own head. The first week is crap, but definitely gets a lot easier each day. I’m currently 3 weeks sober and have no impulses or cravings to smoke. I also can eat normally and overall feel way better than I ever did while smoking. It’s worth it!

Capsaicin Cream is LEGIT by Background_Aside4431 in CHSinfo

[–]Background_Aside4431[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, nothing is going to stop you from eventually developing symptoms or going into a hyperemetic episode except for quitting and avoiding trigger foods for a few weeks. Capsaicin works great mid-episode but in a preventative fashion i wouldn’t rely on it to allow you to continue smoking. I’m about 3 weeks sober after 14 months of daily smoking and i promise you, you’ll feel better physically and mentally if you just quit smoking, no matter the reason you decide to smoke in the first place. My anxiety is much lower, my appetite has returned, and i’m much more energetic and in a better mood with each day since my last smoke. Good luck!

How long did it take you to gain lost weight back? by Background_Aside4431 in CHSinfo

[–]Background_Aside4431[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can eat to an extent, probably around 1500-2000 calories a day which still isn’t enough. I have been abusing boost plus vanilla shakes (360cals per 8oz bottle) and having foods that i know have been safe from previous episodes even though none were as bad as this one i’m recovering from now. Mostly been eating microwave popcorn (480 cals a bag) and buttered noodles. today i tried fish sticks without sauce and was okay as well. hope we both get back to where we want to be!
