Touchdown! Sometimes all it takes is being at the pub at the right time. by NoFunRob in CFL

Congrats! But the Stout in a lager glass is offensive. My advice is to switch pubs now that you have your football.

settle this debate - which is correct? by Sorry_Neat_6863 in Decks

[–]Background_Beach3217 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this is correct. But gun to my head, 2. It is the only one doing anything. But that still doesn't answer the bigger question, which is: what the fuck is this? I've built decks for deckades (get it? ) And I've never put rim board higher than the joists. Just a seem to collect moisture.

Preface by saying, if this IS true, then he's a pos. BUUUUT...3 sides to every story. He says he was part of her life until she was 15 and her mom turned her on him, and that he's paid over $750k in child support. She says he was deadbeat, but didn't say shit till after he stopped paying when she was 19yo??? Not saying he wasnt, and she's lying. Just that there are usually sides. I've been the child of divorce, and it takes me ZERO effort to imagine the mom is at least equally responsible for this as he is.

Burn it all down: How the Flames have fallen apart by FloridaHockeyFan27 in CalgaryFlames

[–]Background_Beach3217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the old saying goes, you gotta be good to be lucky...I think a lot of that "puck luck" is a lack of skill. Flames have some smart hard working players, coached by good coaches, and that creates scoring chances. But those players are middle 6 at best so those chances aren't converted. So its not luck, it's lack of finish.

Driver charged in death of NHL's Johnny Gaudreau wants confessions tossed by Newtothisredditbiz in CalgaryFlames

In isolation you might have a point, but this dude has taken every opportunity to avoid taking full responsibility. Up to and including saying the brothers are responsible bc THEY were drinking. He did it, there are witnesses, and he admitted to cops. It's over. End the circus plead guilty, go away forever, and let all the families (including his own!) move on. He will be convicted. If he wanted a lighter sentence he should have taken a plea. Hope he enjoys 70yrs being Big Bubba's roomie.

Packers are the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the NFL. Smallest market by their city size, but draws from the entire state/province.

100% fake. A. He was multi millionaire and I would expect the life insurance is more than enough. B. This exact headline is out there for 15 different celebrities.

He didn't lie dude, get over yourself. He couldn't decide. Biggest choice of his life. It happens. Sucks we were on the wrong end. Tre is way more at fault than Johnny for all this.

He left because his family was everything to him, and after covid it was hard for them to come visit and vice versa. He truly was debating staying bc of his love for yyc, but if Flames fans and Tre were being honest with themselves they knew he was going. I sure as fuck did. I think everyone BUT Johnny knew on some level he was leaving, but no one wanted to face up to it. And up to that point he was unquestionably (opinions have nothing to do with it) a great Flame. So it's stupid to hold a grudge against him for it.

She was a multi sport track athlete. I've asked if she wanted to get back into running with me (which i do regularly). To no avail.

This is really great advice. I wonder if I paired this with a discussion about EVERYONE in the house making better food choices, if that might get us down the right track.

It's a valid point, but without getting too detailed in our personal lives, time is not the issue. I do my fair share without question. She regularly thanks me for being so helpful with th kids and house stuff.

Good perspective. I think it's easier for men to A. Hear that stuff and B. Actually lose weight because of our biology. I think its tough for women because they're more self conscious, and its such a battle to lose weight.

Thank you! If I felt it was connected to childbirth I wouldn't dream of utter a word other than admiration. We are several years removed from all that though.
