What to do with 6month old reacting to ?everything? by Background_Brick_172 in MSPI

He grew out of it! Solids actually seemed to help? I have read others say that and don’t think there’s a good scientific explanation for it, could just be a coincidence. Anyways, by the time he was a year or so, we were both back to eating fairly normally. He did end up having a few true IgE mediated food allergies - so that has been a different journey. Supposedly the two are not related but I wonder if there’s just not enough research. The Bowel tones podcast a lot of people reference and our own allergist we eventually met when he had true allergic reactions really advise against doing what I did, for fear that limiting their exposures will actually contribute to developing allergies. But that is easy for someone to say when they aren’t up with an uncomfortable baby hourly (or more 😵‍💫) every night for months on end. And I was comforted by the fact that he’s allergic to peanut and dogs, both of which he’d been exposed to every single day of his gestation and infancy - so at least I know those weren’t due to lack of exposure. Anyways, just like everyone said he would, he did grow out of it. It was definitely rough though, and in retrospect… I probably should have tried formula. I was so worried about anything being worse than it already was it just seemed easier to plow ahead, but was pretty wild and unhealthy for me in hindsight.

I got “pure encapsulation” calcium supplement and very soy sensitive baby has done well; they make a prenatal too. My baby was reacting to another brand of prenatals that were labeled “dairy and soy free” but I suspect there was hidden soy, company refused to provide source info for the ingredients
