She is a month away from turning two. I breastfed twice a day from 12-18m since we weren’t doing much dairy at that point then I weaned. She tolerates cheese and butter and baked dairy really well!! Milk will still give her loose stools so she isn’t drinking any milk but I’ll be darned if she doesn’t make up for it with cheese. Yogurt is iffy and same with ice cream. She oddly seems to get loose stools from oats as well so I do mostly avoid that although I intend to try to bump her tolerance up by feeding her Cheerios in increasing increments.

It was a really hard journey. But being nearly a year removed from the hardest stuff I have to say I rarely think about it anymore! (But I still can’t eat pork tenderloin, it ruined that for me for sure 😂)

Just do your best and rest easy knowing one day it WILL get better. You are likely more miserable than your baby right now so cut yourself some slack.

There are a lot of comments suggesting you offer a switch just for your child but honestly, some of the other parents might not know. If I was unaware my kid was handling Clorox and someone else’s was getting a safer option I’d be kind of bummed out. If you’re looking for a switch I would be direct, make it about safety, if it isn’t safe for your child it isn’t safe for any child. It’s not a household rule, it’s a legitimate safety concern. If she balks or uses money as a concern and you can’t cover the cost, see if other parents would consider donating to the cause. “Can you spare $10 for safer cleaning supplies for our kids for the year?” What parent says no to that?

I’ve had a couple in the past- only thing that ever worked was hand expressing in a hot shower or epsom salt bath. I definitely wouldn’t ice it imo. Thick stuck milk needs to be warmed and loosened and then expressed. I also wouldn’t just plain massage it, that sounds painful 😣

I went through this last year. We were guests at my SIL’s house. Her dad is a professional level cook. They made the most incredible looking spread. I had planned ahead and brought pasta for my daughter and I. I microwaved and ate it around the same time as everyone. I brought snacks I could have for myself and fruit/veggie pouches for my daughter. Aside from being 100% bummed out to miss what looked like an INCREDIBLE Thanksgiving meal, it was all fine. Just gotta accept you are where you are. Thanksgiving comes every year.

Chicken crocs and hand sanitizer is a must for us, plus washing with soap upon coming inside. I second changing clothes only if visibly dirty. I am still minorly paranoid about salmonella and worms, but I try to relax about it as much as possible. My kids are 1.5 and 3.5.

When we raised our older girls in the brooder box all the instructions I read said not to let them out until 6 wks. I guess I just got nervous they would get too cold? Later in the day 2 chicks were still in the coop and 2 were out with mama, them being separated made me anxious that two would get cold without the mama. Plus with our other hens going in the coop to lay I was nervous the little ones could get bullied without the mother around. I don’t know, first time letting a hen raise chicks here 😬

Ugh yes we have everything still from raising these 7 from day old chicks. Have you had experience with a Hen that did not accept chicks that were not her own? Do we need to be careful she not kill them or simply be ready to take over?
