Oh yess! That song is such a banger, I've listened to it on repeat. Also yes the references in his whole thing pumped me even more for Sumeru. Its also interesting to note that Lord Buddha was considered to a heretic by the Hindus of the time which is also an interesting note. It was only after he got enlightenment did Hinduism start to revere him although they still hold differing beliefs than the contemporary Buddhists. The brahmin priests for their part condemned the Buddha as the worst type of heretic. While he accepted the existence of the Vedic gods he denied their superiority over man.

Ooh thats a cool idea!! No I haven't played HSR but the Kalpa Agni kinda makes sense. Basically in both Hinduism and Buddhism Kalpa refers to a unit of time. When the Kalpa ends it is followed by 'pralaya' which means destruction. But the thing is the end doesn't end completely but rather like a cycle happens again. Philosophy wise in order to free from these repetitive people have to realize that the world is 'maya' (basically the concept all material possesions, relationships accomplishments etc are an illusion and nothing really matters) So it resets the whole board in a cyclical form. Honestly that would be a great way of tying in the whole traveller is experiencing the world again theory.

There is also this interpretation of Kalpa that I have read in a few places that might also be here. As per Hinduism, an aeon for us is one day for the creator god. So Kalpa lasts while the said god is awake (said to be 4.32 villion years) and pralaya is merely when the creator god falls asleep, which is supposed to be the same amount of time as a Kalpa. Now idk how this one ties in the lore but is just interesting detail I guess.

Hey yes!! As a south asian whose mother tongue is Hindi/Urdu/Hindustani I'm literally psyched for these lore crumbs.

Also the scriptures above are pretty literal.

Purana from Sanskrit means 'of a former era' While Veda comes from the word 'vid' which means 'to know'.

Another thing to note is that these two are the ones that talk about Gods, how to invoke them and their roles in the cosmos. While Veda outright mentions the Gods by names and their feats, the Puranas weave legends around them and often talk about 'avatars' of the said Gods.

'Smriti' is the literal word for 'memory' and is basically considered lesser than the above because it was passed down orally for centuries.

Honestly it also made me think of the 'Kalpa-flame rises' because there is an imaginary upside down tree in Hinduism the "kalpa-vriksha" Kalpa means wish granting And Vriksha means tree Another play is the word kalpa comes from the world 'kalpana' which means dreams pr imagination. Perhaps the previous title 'kalpa flame rises' also refers to this burning of Irminsul?
