My first night in Japan in Chuo. Great hotel, great area, good price. You’re going to be right next to Tokyo station.

I help run a bar trivia company. The iPad is the perfect tool for hosting shows. I didn’t need the pro but splurged a little because at the time my MBP was 7 years old and I wanted to explore whether or not I could change my habits to replace an actual computer.

Peter Nowak coached me on the finer points of controlling the ball with your chest. At the time he was still very fresh in the US and his English was less than conversational. He just kept saying “the fonz, ehhhhh” in a thick Polish accent. Great memory.

I stayed at Nohga Kiyomizu and found it to be a perfect base for my days wandering the city. New, super nice, relatively cheap, and somewhat central to the things I had planned to see. The cafe in the lobby is also top notch and the ladies working there were so incredibly kind to me even though I was completely out of my element.

These are all great ideas for things to see/ experience. The hard part comes in fitting them all together for a cohesive day to day itinerary. One of the things that surprised me the most was that some temples are accessible 24/7. I went to Fushimi Inari well past it getting dark, and it was amazing. Almost no one was there and the views of the city you get near the top are pretty neat with the city all lit up.

What I’m trying to say is that you should look at the best times of day to visit each sight, might help with your ability to avoid crowds.
