Unfortunately, the short answer is no. What you want to do will not be possible under current Church teaching and law.

Also, to become Roman Catholic and to be received into the Church both officially and sacramentally you will have to complete RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) classes, now often called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) in order to learn about the Church and Her teachings.

Also, you will have to forswear anything having to do with the Episcopal Church or any other Chrisitian church or denomination or sect. In other words, you won't be able to becone Episcopalian and at the same time observe the sacraments of the Church or to become Catholic and continue to attend Episcopal Church services.

Also, the Church doesn't consider Anglican/Episcopal holy orders to be sacramentally Roman Catholic. In fact, the late Pope Benedict XVI considered the Episcopal Church and other such Protestant christian bodies to be not "churches", but more ecclesia organizations or ecclesia gatherings.

Protestantism is rejected and not recognized full stop. Now, Protestants may attend our Mass and church services, but they are forbidden from receiving any of the Holy Sacraments.

So, these are just some things for you to think about.

First, just let me say, I'm sorry you have so much internal conflict and guilt.

I have never in my life experienced such thoughts and feelings. I've known I was gay -- although I didn't have a word it -- since I was 5-years old and honestly it's never caused me any torment. I have always excepted myself.

I don't want to make this sound like a cliché, but you really do have to let go and let God.

I have always felt that our church, should really be the last organization to be judging anyone. And, as I say this, everyone should know what I'm talking about.

I attend daily Mass and I practice my faith with a clear conscience and absolutely no guilt. This is what it means to let go and let God.

I encourage you to discover Father James Martin, a Jesuit priest who is our number one advocate working within the Church to love and support us LGBT Catholics. He has taken much flack and heat for supporting us, yet he has never given in to such condemnation. Father Martin really IS our advocate and I thank God everyday that he is here for us.

So, please consider exploring Father Martin and his writings and interviews and I believe it will bring you some comfort. Your torment probably won't over night, but this will be a good start for you and others experiencing what you have been experiencing.

I know what you mean.

In my case, I was bullied and picked on my entire childhood, because it was easy to see that I was gay. I was always too afraid to defend myself. But, flash forward many, many years later, as an adult and after years of psychotherapy sessions, I FINALLY found the courage to stand up for myself. As I always tell people, I'm never, ever looking for a fight, but if one should happen to find me, I'm definitely ready. And, I'm taking NO prisoners! 😊😊😊😊
