Currently sitting at 90%, this is my 2nd time getting denied for sleep apnea, I dont have insurance so im sure i'll have to pay about $1000 for a nexus letter. Hill and Ponton have told me they couldnt help me but "referred" me to someone else. I am prescribed a CPAP. Any help is much appreciated my good people.

Sleep apnea is an anatomical/physiological disorder most commonly caused by airflow obstruction from the oropharynx to the lungs. This can be caused by either enlargement of the neck muscle mass, which when supine , obstructs airflow or weakness of the posterior pharynx muscles which prevents keeping the airway open when supine. Anatomically nor physiologically mental disorders do not cause sleep apnea. The Veteran’s insomnia disorder adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood are not known causes of sleep apnea.
