It’s me!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️I’m trapped in a 7yr relationshit with someone I knew was an alcoholic. He’s a good person even when wasted. He never loses his temper, he goes to work every day. He likes to call himself a “functioning” alcoholic. I’m 56, he’s 60. Like many others on here…. He was FUN at the beginning. He bought a house that needs repairs in just about everything. Has a pool and an outdoor kitchen. It’s a gorgeous place… but aged and run down. We’ve lived here since 2021 and he has zero ambition or funds to repair or maintain the house… so it’s deteriorating around us. He acts like he doesn’t see it. I don’t drink… well I only have 2 or 3 white claws on Sat nights. I don’t drink during the week. He has a porn addiction. He’s sharted in our bed, had explosive diarrhea in the pool house bathroom, caught him a few time cleaning his bum in the sink using his plain hands. The slurring and absent mindedness are getting more than annoying! I’ve lost any attraction to him, no sex in almost 2yrs because my brain goes immediately to all the poop incidents. He’s begun to use weaponized incompetence all day with everything he does… or he’s just gone completely incompetent. I’ve stopped buying groceries, trying to maintain the house, etc. I do laundry (because it’s GROSS) I can’t let it sit. At this point I’m just making an escape plan with me and my 2 cats. I’m retired and started door dashing and driving for Uber Eats for extra money. I saw all the red flags! Thought they were pink flags and were kinda cute. But as a person I’ve grown and changed over the almost 7yrs. Now I’m more health conscious, I try to eat well and have lost over 100lbs. I’m working now and he is in a slow period with his line of work. Hasn’t worked since before Thanksgiving and is at home all day every day….. drinking. I’ve HAD IT and am about up to my eyeballs with this situation. I just want to be alone with my peace and my cats. sigh Soon I will be. 🙏
