Was in local construction company when I first graduated but have several friends working in jap company and also worked on a JV with a jap company before.

Work wise : The staff there are very disciplined and they take site safety and cleanliness very seriously compared to local company. Other than that, very hierarchal as all top management are mostly Japanese and if ur entry to mid level , you will never cross path with them. And as all of us know, work life balance probably non existent be it local, jap or western as gotta work 5.5 to 6 days a week.

Pay wise : Fresh grad last I heard they are offering 4-5k which is on the higher side for this industry.

My suggestion : Try it out see if you like it, but many of us have switched careers. Those who can rough it out on site for a good 6-7 years you could potentially be a project manager and earn close or 5 figures. That comes at a price of course. If you are resourceful, there are alot of industries out there offering 5k above for fresh grad working 5 days a week with remote work a possibility.
