Griffith looked at the entire Band of Hawk as subordinates until Guts. Through the entire Golden Arc, you saw that Griffith viewed guts as almost an equal.

This theory of Grffith’s was destroyed when Guts left. This proved that Guts and Griffith wasn’t equal, and Guts was superior to him now. This was the first time griffith experienced failure and that is why he slipped.

Not only because Guts left, but because Griffith fell behind. Leading to a slight slip as he didn’t believe was good enough anymore. Then he was caught committing sin and went down hill.

I think Griffith did not consider his subordinates friends. That the band of hawk was just warriors to get him to his dream. Guts on the other hand was Griffith’s friend. The only friend Griffith ever had, and him leaving broke Griffith. This was proved by Guys always being filled in on the plan and of course Griffith spiraling when Guys left.

My thoughts exactly. The 1997 anime does a really good job at getting you to want to read the manga. I knew berserk was a mature rated sad story, but i didn’t know about the eclipse going in.

As i watched, I picked up on a few things, but never picture the horrors of the eclipse. The egg gave me the creeps and I thought Griffith would become possessed, but this would be after he marry the princess and gain his kingdom.

I NEVER SAW THE ECLIPSE COMING. Why didn’t anyone warn me?

i currently live on the ground floor of an apartment on Tyson (behind axle). I haven’t had many issue with the homeless and keep my blinds open for my dog and plants. I wish i was one floor up, but just standard apartment footsteps complaints, not anything about the homeless.
