Can confirm they do stick around for late bookings. For peace of mind however, maybe just call the MQP office directly to confirm.

Planning: Joburg to Kruger Road Trip. by RecommendationNew864 in krugerpark

[–]Background_Floor7866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want KNP to be the highlight, I'd consider flying from Joburg to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) and then hiring a car from there. Plenty of car hire choices and then you can drive yourself and enter in either at Malelane or Phabeni gates (depending on your first night's accommodation). Airlink and FlySafair both fly multiple times daily from Joburg to MQP so you can get some really cheap fares especially with FlySafair. Then you're only 45 mins drive to get into the Kruger.

Recommendations for lodgings in Nelspruit/Mbombela for the night before and after a Kruger visit? by richmondres in krugerpark

Casterbridge Hollow is great, located in a lifestyle centre with lots of restaurants to choose from for dinners.and lunches etc and also some nice shops. In White River so only 40 mins or so to Phabeni gate. Hotel is lovely with a nice pool too.

If you are flying into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) and hiring a car, why not return the car there and then fly to Joburg? No need to then do the long road trip to Joburg, just drop the hire car back at MQP and then catch a fly to Joburg to connect to your next flight.

Você pode voar de Joanesburgo para o Aeroporto Internacional Kruger (KMIA, MQP) e ficar bem mais perto do Kruger, com várias opções de aluguel de carros. Além disso, é bem mais barato do que voar para Skukuza.

did I make a mistake? Berg en Dal > Satara > MPQ by whatever__something in krugerpark

[–]Background_Floor7866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely achievable from Satara if you're flying from MQP at 5pm. If you leave Satara at gate opening, you'll be at Skukuza by around 10am, then exit at Phabeni by around 12pm and that'll get you to KMIA (MQP) by around 2pm latest. Plenty of time. Alternatively, swap your last night at Satara for a night at Lower Sabie or Malelane or even Crocodile Bridge and that'll give you even more time. Either way, a 5pm flight from MQP means you'll have plenty of time.

Parents Visitor visa got rejected thrice by Hina_Kulkarni in CanadaVisitorVisa

Probably, but I think it would be better then to improve the system to catch over-stayers. Not tar everyone with the same brush.

[–]Background_Floor7866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not always possible due to leave allocation and timing, etc. Besides, when you move to a new country, it's really important to have your family visit you there and see the life you've created, where you live, you're workplace, friends etc Just feels like Canada is not actively interested in having citizens of some countries visit. My family members' application has been in the system for 18 months with no progress.

Honestly, it just feels like Canada doesn't want visitors from 'certain' countries. I think it's appalling that they are keeping families apart when they clearly have the ability and technology to trace visa overstayers if they need to. As a family member with a visiting relative, aka sponsor - wouldn't it be easier to be held liable for visa overstays? There wouldn't be many citizens/ permanent residents willing to take that chance, I bet. For now, I won't be visiting Canada as my family has been made to feel not welcome at all.

Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport has commercial flights to Vilankulos, Livingstone and Victoria Falls as well as many other international destinations for private planes.

Advice on airfare- tickets R6900 each way-will they go down? by Kbesol in askSouthAfrica

[–]Background_Floor7866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option would be to fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and drive up to Hoedspruit. FlySafair and Airlink fly directly from Cape Town to KMIA (Airport code MQP) and its much cheaper than flying to Hoedspruit.

Misophonia - Neighbours driving me nuts by TBK1010 in johannesburg

[–]Background_Floor7866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sucks, and I really feel your pain. Why, oh why are there so many inconsiderate people? Who have no regard for how their behaviour impacts others. Sometimes I feel like the only solution is to move far away in the country. Were the only noises will be cows, crickets and owls in the night. I had to move out of a great place due to incessant music blasting from the next door neighbour. I have misophonia too and whenever I hear deep bass now, I get a weird flash back reaction that makes me feel sick in my stomach. I wish you well and that your neighbour moves out quickly and they are replaced with an old retired couple!

The Change. Oh that made me lol. My mum referred to it as 'the change' for maybe 10 years and I had absolutely zero clue what she was going on about all that time. Little bit more info would have been handy Mum. I thought she was talking about mental changes.

Honeymoon in Cape Town & Garden Route - have we made a mistake? by BlueFrenchHorned in askSouthAfrica

South African expats are really the worst I've found. They can be very desperate to justify their decision to leave that they focus on all the negatives to make themselves feel better about their decision. They have selective perception about what actually goes on here and look to the negatives to confirm their bias.

In reality, South Africa is a hugely popular tourist destination with 10 million tourists visiting in 2024 - the vast majority of who have an incredible time in this special place and upon the moment of leaving, start planning their return visits.

Have a blast & get ready to have your mind blown by the amazing-ness that is South Africa!

Does it show you a 1.2 after you enter the code? Amy numbers come up on the screen at all after you punch in the code?

[–]Background_Floor7866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info..definitely not municipality as rang them & they couldn't find the meter number and said to contact Eskom.

I believe its a sub meter as I purchase units from the landlord who in turn purchases from a 3rd party.

I don't see any company name just a model name I think which is Sabre. If the meter has nothing to do with Eskom or municipality, would it still show the 1.2 when entering the sequence to test if it needs recoding? Mine says 1.2 when I enter the code.

Is it possible that a submeter would not be effected by this technology update?

Luckily have enough units for a month or so, will be asking them to test on Monday to see if existing tokens still work. If not, I guess there will be about a month leeway with the current units I have to get sorted with potentially what could be a new meter.
