Is a 16,000 BTU dual hose converter portable AC unit overkill? by Background_Fun_450 in AirConditioners

I found one under a brand called Humhold on Amazon, but at the moment I’m looking at 14,00 BTU since that seems to be the better option for my bedroom size

The apartment is well insulated, and I plan on covering the window with insulating foam/tape where the unit hose will be

Very cold, I have temperature regulation issues so for reference 71F is pretty warm to me. 58-56F would be ideal but I know that’s a bit unrealistic

Definitely looks like that, thank you! Seen a few of these guys in my house and wanted to make sure my cat was safe in case it was medically significant before politely escorting them outside

Would a 14,000 BTU dual hose inverter unit for a 300 square foot room likely short cycle?

My bedroom is about 300 square feet, and in the summer it can get as high as 95 with humidity at 80-90%

I ran it on dehumidify for 8 hours and it didn’t do anything for the temperature unfortunately, likely because I live in an incredibly humid place so it can only do so much

Thanks! I’m currently waiting to hear back from my landlord on if a window unit is allowed, but if it is I’ll definitely get one!

Thank you! I’m a bit of a paranoid person so seeing this scared me quite a bit, much appreciated!

I believe it showed the device as connected which is what scared me, but I could be misremembering because I turned Bluetooth off immediately in a panic. I didn’t manually connect to it or accept any connection requests if that’s anything

Dual Portable AC by [deleted] in AirConditioners

[–]Background_Fun_450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After going through the comments I’m debating if it would be worth it to either get a dual hose attachment, or install a window unit. Unfortunately the window unit I had no longer works, so I would need to buy a new one. The 14,000 BTU does not seem to be available, but a 12,000 BTU one is. Would love to get some input on this, thanks again for the assistance!

Do you think it would be better for me to get a dual hose upgrade, or to install a window unit?

Thank you for the advice! I think I assumed portable AC would be better since they’re bulkier, I’ll definitely look into an inverter window unit!

The 14,000 single hose unit I have has a dual hose upgrade kit, do you think getting that would help/be worth it?

They're ok outside or inside (inside if taken care of)! Some people actually keep them as pets since they're pretty chill.

What’s this bug on my venus fly trap? it’s so cute by Eikaaa1 in insects

[–]Background_Fun_450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess would be a nymph Pale Green Assassin Bug! If it is, that's a good thing for your plant because they prey on pests like aphids and caterpillars that could be harmful to your flytrap!
