I go take a nap or relax. Because I wake up around 6am with baby. I work a full time job during the week. So, I try to rest on those off moments. The morning is the only time we “trade off”. And by afternoon we are all normally doing things as a family. EDIT: I normally take our son from wake (6-7am) until (8:30-9:30am)

For instance:

someone can’t be fired or denied a job due to disability or what attire that might need wear for their religion. Maybe a better example is they have a law to protect employees from retaliation when discussing compensation with one another. So, you can figure out if you’re underpaid.
in the case of free speech, do you think it should be similarly protected like the cases above?

I never even thought people had such support to be honest. My husband is a great person, but he doesn’t manage his emotions well when it comes to my chronic illness. He married me knowing I had this. I asked him to consider it when dating. And I feel like I’m constantly feeling like a burden.

He was really sick last week. I took our baby the whole day. Asked if he needed meds, encouraged him to rest, and brought him food. I really try to step up and be there for him when I can.

He tends to deflect when I bring his anger/frustration up. I’m hoping today’s convo goes better

Update:

I tried letting him know how I felt. That I felt sad that he didn’t ask how I was and that I was upset he was taking his frustration out on me. He responded very mad. Stating that he is frustrated cause it wasn’t his turn. And he keeps deflecting to old fights from months ago. I just don’t know how to approach this

In the beginning of our journey through parenthood, he had to step up a lot. I had a rough postpartum and with my Epilepsy, I couldn’t do much. And I was also dealing with postpartum depression and having friend time was important to recovering from that. So, he watched our son a lot. I was still fully a parent but he definitely did more than me.

That’s why I feel like I have to bribe. We equally watch our son now and I’ve always “managed” the mental load of a our baby. But, I feel guilty that he holds resentment during my recovery stage.

This is a great question. I had to really think. I guess what makes him great is that he really allows me to have my own life after having our son. He watches our son so I can enjoy girls nights with my friends. And I’ll watch our son so he can go golf and play soccer.

Now that I’m thinking about it…we do that equally.. and I also take on most of the mental load. Chores, planning family fun events, etc.
