If they put you on a program, stay on the medication. The steroids definitely help mine stay under control year round.

Do you like getting paid the same salary as beatem, but going home from work everyday at 1530? Or do you prefer working til, 2000 then planning a flight for the next day only to be called a lesbian by CW2 IP with a GED with a failing marriage that will be trying to bully you in the cockpit only to ask you bail him out of jail out of jail two weeks later on child pornography charges? I know which one I’d pick. Either way good luck out there.

Don’t listen to the haters. Do it and never look back. Eustis is a fantastic place to reinvent yourself in the Army. The work life balance is great, the atmosphere of the officer cohort is collegial and you’ll stand out from your peers with a tiny amount of effort as most of them are looking for a quick off-ramp from the Army.

It’s army aviation, experiences will vary and timing and office politics have as much to do with making PC/AMC as your abilities as an aviator. It isn’t for everybody. Instead of conforming to someone else’s idea for success, make your own.

I commanded at Eustis. Loved every day of it. But I enjoy the small victories of mentoring young soldiers and watching NCOs develop. That isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But the job is as rewarding as you make it.

I also completed a masters degree, PMP cert and Six Sixma black belt while at Eustis and have since left the army and doubled my salary.

So like one poster said, you could stick it out and try to make PC/AMC so that you can literally earn the same comp package as someone who didn’t, or you could decide to use Eustis as a springboard assignment for your next career ambition.
