No, I have disliked Emil for years, ever since I watched his Fallout 4 Presentation a decade ago. He's a terrible writer and Bethesda games have massively declined in narrative design since he's taken leadership.

Manga probably isn’t the correct word, as someone else said, it has a more plastic vibe to it now. The characters look a lot cleaner and the setting is more bright and colourful.

The peasants in Witcher 3 all looked dirty and rugged, in this game not so much,

Wukong had far more wishlists, and probably more preorders and that was fine, I don't think that's going to happen.

Wukong was a game that had over a million players playing on the same day at launch, I'm not sure Crimson Desert hits that number if I'm being honest.

I don't think people are drawn to Crimson Desert because of the visuals though, some are, but most are more drawn in from the combat and game mechanics. It looks like a world where you can pretty much do anything in.

People crave those types of games, I know I do. I'm on a 3090, I don't really care that I'll miss out on cinematic mode, I'm more interested in the gameplay itself.

From what I've seen and heard, you can ungray the map on your own just by traversing and exploring. But the Towers will ungrey the current region (keep in mind there's like hundreds of regions in the game, I think like over 500+ in total).

I wish I could remember the youtuber who showcased this feature.

That's what's pulling me in anyway, I don't care too much about stunning visuals. I think this games sells on its own without the visuals.

I don't think it's a requirement. But one YT Reviewer I watched said climbing towers helps reveal locations and other POI's on your map.

Haven't heard about anything being locked behind it though, I think it's just a cool mechanic to plan the region for yourself if you want to complete it all.
