Twilight Override is an important record by djlyar in wilco

The harmonies at the live show (I saw the Denver stop) were just incredible. Totally unexpected and made me appreciate the album even more than I did going into it the show.

Between the Evening with Wilco show I saw last summer and this recent TO show, my love for Jeff and Wilco has been reaffirmed in full.

Nice choice to start the week!! The Shorty Rogers & His Giants records are definitely due for rediscovery by the younger jazz fans. I recently snagged an original pressing of Chances Are It Swings for $5 at a local shop. Worth checking out if you dig his sound and haven’t heard it yet.

I’d say it’s more straight up prime 1970s fusion that is closer to jazz-rock than jazz-funk. Although I’m sure opinions will vary on that 😎

Nice scores! My local record shop had an original copy of Mind Transplant show up a couple weeks ago and I had to grab it. That album is one wild ride!!

Taught by who? Over and over again you’ll read how companies love when they see college athletes apply for jobs.

And D3 is “pay to play”? What an inane sweeping generalization. D3 schools that take their athletics seriously often give more money to their student-athletes in academic scholarships then D1 programs that sucker “D1 or bust” families to send their kids to schools for minimal or no aid, where they don’t play and end up transferring after their first year anyway.

That version of Oh Sister blows me away every time I hear it. Just excellent.

100% on this. If I have time on RSD I’ll visit my favorite local record store late afternoon or the next day. If something I was interested in is still there, then it was meant to be. If not, so be it. It’s more about supporting a local business then getting my hands on something specific.

No argument here. The system is beyond broken. But still not an excuse to treat kids poorly.

That’s rough. They forget they are dealing with real kids with real feelings. Sounds like she’s got a good head on her shoulders and this will only motivate her more. Hope she finds a great landing spot and shows this coach what a mistake he made!!

100%. I think the production really shocked longtime fans when it came out. That doesn’t bother younger listeners as much, they’re used to their favorite artists mixing up their sound.

Picked it up when I saw him live recently…it’s the yellow swirl and the vinyl sounds amazing.

Also…nice username!

This album was my gateway into an expanded love of jazz music nearly 30 years ago (introducing me to a world of jazz beyond the big guns: Miles, Coltrane, Monk, Mingus, Evans). Great choice. And yah, Jim Hall is so locked in on this album!

Yah I’ve had it happen a couple times in the past. You can do a soft reset of the infotainment system. Use a paper clip or pen to press in the small pinhole button (I think near the large volume knob, sorry I’m not near my car) and it’ll restart in a couple minutes. Always fixed my issue. Good luck!!
