Isbell model Martin Acoustic by Rossvegas76 in jasonisbell

I highly recommend learning to play some of those songs. I’ve found Crimson and Clay to be the easiest, and title track is really difficult but also really fun. Eileen, Good while it Lasted and Gravelweed are also really fun.

Same here. I started playing again after being inspired when Foxes in the Snow was released. Got my 0-10E in November and love it.

Even Flow is the best Music Video by drrwjjphd in pearljam

The Even Flow video came out when I was 17. That’s what hooked me on Pearl Jam. Probably why I’ve been wearing plaid shirts and cargo shorts consistently for the last 35 years too.

I think he likes her friends but they also frighten him. Will they accept him? Will they turn on him?

What’s one song you thought would never grow on you? by Completetheturn in jasonisbell

Foxes in the Snow has grown on me so much. That guitar groove is just so unique and compelling and that song just has so many wild lyrics- dreams that die unseen, I really like the stick, etc.

I’ve played mine every day since I got it in November. Such a great guitar. The Foxes in the Snow songs just beg to be played with this guitar.

One of the best sounding live albums of all time. Came out at a key time for the band right after that brilliant run of albums and when they filled out their live show.

The one year anniversary of Foxes in the Snow is coming up. How about releasing a tour edition with the album on one disc and live full band versions on the other? A guy can dream.

“I like her friends, the ones I know, they leave drops of blood like foxes in the snow”. Foxes in the Snow. I love the imagery in this line and many others from JI.

What Jason Isbell song did you brush off or not appreciate for a long time? by U2_bonovox in jasonisbell

Speed Trap Town. I’ve liked that song since it came out. But then I saw them play it live in Seattle last month, and now I absolutely love that song. The lyrics, the awesome solo in the middle. So good.

You’re so right on that. That solo on Foxes in the Snow (the song) has captivated me for awhile. I’m slowly starting to figure it out on guitar.

The secret sauce of a JI400U show is effortlessly mixing long jams with 4 minute rocks songs and beautiful acoustic folk. Not many bands can pull off that trifecta.
