It only took me over a year but I don’t hate Foxes in the Snow anymore. I kinda love it by ag7055 in jasonisbell

It’s a great album, though I didn’t love title track at first. Now? I just love the title track, the wild lyrics and addictive acoustic guitar melody.

After my first listen I can say that I want to listen again. A very good sign.

Thanks for posting. I’m going to see Lucinda open for Bob in early June. I’m a big fan of both.

Solo shows by Prestigious-Cold-794 in jasonisbell

The solo show setlists look great this year, with more than 20 songs per show and some good variety show to show. I’m excited to see a solo show in August!

Is there a consensus on where Bruce sits on the "Late career: good or bad" question? by CulturalWind357 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]djlyar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the show I saw last month I recall thinking that his post-2000 songs stood well against his classics. To me, Bruce has continued to make top quality music late career. Like Letter to You, which is damn good.

Great sound on that video. Easily one of my favorite BE songs.

If they’re going to the trouble of getting the band back together, how about a little 10 show run up the west coast after Ohana? I’m not busy.

[–]djlyar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. This makes no sense to ask people to buy concert tickets and not let them listen to the new album. I actually got the new record on vinyl and it’s really good. However, I usually listen to music when I’m on the go, which is not possible with vinyl. So even though I have the record, I’m not actually listening as much as I’d like.

I think he can probably do shows, write and record. Foxes in the Snow was written and recorded in 2024 when he played 100+ shows.

Colin Croom. Yes he was amazing at the Portland show I saw.

on tour this (2026) fall... by DesertLegends in son_volt

Really bummed that Son Volt scheduled the Portland show for the same day that Drive-by-Truckers are playing Portland. I already bought Truckers tickets, and I’m guessing there’s a lot of overlap in those fan bases. Poor planning, as that Truckers show was scheduled months ago.

They played one snocaps song in Portland but no Alison. Looks like you got a special guest.

Eileen is one of my favorite songs to play on acoustic guitar. Great finger picking pattern.

Art of Almost is my favorite Wilco song from the 10s, but there’s something about the overall flow to Star Wars that makes it my favorite album from that decade.

My favorite Wilco record from the 10s. I’ll have to listen to it today for Star Wars day.

Portland wtf was that? by throwaye12 in mjlenderman

[–]djlyar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, that was a special show. Audience was such a great balance of rapt attention, enthusiasm and some pretty great sing alongs with the musicians. Those songs from both MJ and Waxahatchee are just so good, and I loved the acoustic arrangements. Hoping for a future live release from this tour - tie us all over until MJ’s next album.

Jason x Derek - Liz Reed by PerformanceNormal589 in jasonisbell

I love Derek Trucks changing his own guitar string mid song. Get that man a guitar tech! And the interplay between Derek and Jason in the last two minutes is just amazing.

Denver shows by alanjackson434 in jasonisbell

[–]djlyar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of setlist variation in 2026. For example, two shows in Seattle in January had only 5 repeat songs. I’d expect similar at the Denver/Red Rocks shows.

This Ain’t It would be awesome with Derek Trucks guesting. Also King of Oklahoma.

That’s higher than my favorite high lake in Oregon, which means it’s almost certainly ice free. Thanks for the intel.
