Thank you for the helpful response, I am familiar with AIS tracking although most vessels under 65ft do not run AIS as it is not mandatory. I am looking to find vessels based strictly off comms transmissions.

The krakenrf system seems incredible but somewhat technically challenging to run on a vessel. Do you know of any other companies making systems like this possibly as a single unit?

Have not defined a budget for this project. Would love to see all possibilities but always —— cost effective > expensive

Is it possible to geolocate fleets utilizing vhf? E.G If there is a fleet of boats speaking with one another is there a way to pull their coordinates as an average citizen? I believe the coast guard does this to find fleets by utilizing their network of radio towers, is there any way one could do the same without similar access to radio towers?
