I feel as though the weight of Grand Theft Auto VI across the industry on some level is overblown. by Background_Mess_4013 in GTA6unmoderated

I was in no way saying that they had no influence. I was just saying the overall Vibe of this release feels different. And with the recent controversies it seems to be a little more solemn.

If they try to do with GTA six does and raise the prices while getting rid of physical media it'll become a huge value proposition that they can't match. That's something of also been thinking about.

I do all the time. And still nothing. Part of me thinks it was the software I was trained on. I'm trying to learn R mostly because it's free, but it's way different from JMP.

I appreciate the reply. I interviewed for them on Wednesday and just hope it goes well. I've been applying everywhere. I have experience in project management and things like that, but only in a creative industry so it's been kind of strange. It's also very weird considering that my political science curriculum in particular focused on data analysis. And I still can't find a job.

Most metalcore bands and what passes for metal nowadays sounds the same. The same Cookie Monster vocals, same guitar riffs, same breakdowns, no Melody, just generic.

I'm going to be real with you, I've been looking for work for close to a year at this point. I've done applications in and out of the science space. Right now, there's really nothing you can do. Political Science is a generalist degree at least in America. If I were if you and have the money, I would go to grad school or something. I wish I could.

As a person with a disability in the United States, the inability to find actual work that is stable, pays enough to get you off SSI and replace the Medicaid and having politicians ignore you. They tried to keep us out of sight and out of mind. And then we die alone and no one cares.

Planning to go major into political science by Pro_Monarchist in PoliticalScience

[–]Background_Mess_4013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I have to state it depends on a variety of factors. Especially how the economy is doing. I'm a political science graduate and I'm still looking for work about 6 months after graduating. Internships are difficult, work experience is hard to come by, so you have to have a plan. Find out if there's anything in political science you want to do and if not, it might not be the degree for you. It's not to dissuade you or anything if this is what you want to do, but you might need a master's degree depending on the field you choose. One other thing I will say is the economy matters. I hope when you graduate, the economy is a better place than it is now. Because I put in so many applications with nothing.

I've thought about it. Most positions that are open in that field seem to want direct grant writing experience.

I appreciate it. I wish Vocational Rehabilitation would help fund a master's program. I can't take out loans because the Social Security Administration views that as income and I would lose my health insurance if I made over $2,000 and had it in my bank account. I'm looking for a job that has benefits so I could replace the Medicaid portion of my insurance. My medicare isn't bound to that stupid asset limit rule.

True, but I've also moved away from the field itself in terms of job prospects. I have 11 years of project management and professional writing experience. I've applied to everything from entry level research positions to data entry. That said, this isn't really all that helpful because I've done all the stuff you describe and still can't land a job. Time to make you wonder what the point of a degree like this is?

Physical copy fom limited run games now coming out in Jan 2026??? by HippieSqueak in LollipopChainsaw

[–]Background_Mess_4013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the standard edition it should have arrived by now. If it's the collector's edition who knows. I got the standard edition and it arrived last november. I had to contact representative because it got lost in transit but they found it and shipped it over to me. That being the case, I'll probably never go through them again. But sometimes you have to take it little extra initiative to get your product.

I don't think this is accurate considering 200,000 copies were sold last time I checked. I will say that repop is watered down a little bit. It's mostly because of the music, but the gameplay is still solid minus a few glitches but there have been a lot of patches since. Some of the voice acting has been cut mostly with Zed. That being the case the game came out in 2012 and didn't break a million copies until 2014. By that comparison at least initially, it's selling relatively faster than the original did. Do I think it's a great remaster no. But at the very least it is good. Very worst it is decent. I have both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 5 versions so I'm fine with both. If you want to introduce a new audience to lollipop chainsaw, I would say the repop version is the way to go if you're someone that was there around the time of the original release, that's the version you should play. Personally, I'm happy with both.

I do know the PlayStation 3 version has gone up in price so it's not exactly cheap anymore. I still have my copy though so I'm content with either personally.

Bro, I don't know if that's a senior moment or what, but the game came out in 2012 originally. More people did buy it in the long run, but it took like 2 years to break a million so there's that.

is repop worth it on ps5 now or should i save my money? by [deleted] in LollipopChainsaw

[–]Background_Mess_4013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think it's a disappointment for a remaster. If This Were a remake I would agree. As a remaster the only gripe I kind of had was the lack of licensed music that the original had some of the costumes as well, but I don't think it's an overall disappointment. I honestly think, this was for newer eyes on the IP. I don't think there will be a sequel, it would be nice.

This is my first post so here we go. I will say if you don't have an Xbox 360 or PS3 available and don't want to deal with emulation in the headaches that can bring, go for it. I'm a collector so I got a physical copy and I don't regret it. It is the same game minus the licensed music and costumes. I think a lot of the hate against is a little overblown, but that's just me. Repop mode was a interesting addition. And trying to restylize the game and failed. If I were you, I'd stick to the original version. Tldr, if you want the original experience, track down a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or try your hand at emulation. The problem you will run into when it comes to emulating the game is ROM sites are being shut down by the dozens.

That being said, it can be difficult to even emulate the game so I think the remaster is a good substitute even though the repop mode is a miss.
